Stayed at this site for 2 days this month. Very handily placed for Chester and surrounding area, peaceful and rural. Good access and close to motorway networks. Site could be a little tidier and toilet facility very basic. Overall it met our needs at a very reasonable price. We would use this site again.
After reading a very poor review of this excellent little CL on another website, I would like to set the record straight by saying that this site is indeed excellent. Everything you would expect from a farm CL. very friendly owners and peace and quite in spades. Highly recommended!
Just had one night stopover here on our way home and wanted to visit Outlet Centre. The site is very handy for Chester and surrounding area. The site could do with a general good tidying up. In our view this is certainly not a good advert for a club CL.
Our first visit to a CL site, and this site has proved to be a great advert for using the CL network. We had heard of this site due to my partner competing at their Equestrian Cross Country event. Close to the A55, so great for trips into North Wales and Chester. On our first night we decided to visit the local pub in Guilden Sutton, The Bird in Hand is a traditional pub which serves great food, they even welcome the visitors of the four legged kind. Tv signal was great. Some improvements could be made to the hardstanding areas, but apart from that this is a site which is worth a visit.
Great little CL - very helpful owners. We had to cancel our first night due to adverse weather, but the owners were very understanding and even rang us to let us know the weather conditions on the CL.
The site is quite spacious, with a couple of hardstandings as well as grass pitches. Is a working stable business so plenty of horses to look at in the adjacent fields. Easy access and a doddle to find - but watch for the turn off as the signpost to Piper's Ash is on the wrong side of the road and you might miss it! Bus stop to Chester 10 min walk away but we used the park and ride nearby. £2 return into Chester centre. Chester itself was lovely, well worth the visit. Recommend the Military Museum and the Grosvenor Museum, not to mention walking the City Walls.
Hoping to visit again in better weather to make use of the many cycle routes in the area. Only 3 mile ride into Chester centre plus many canal ways to ride alongside.
Lovely site - well worth a visit.
A very well positioned CL for visiting Chester easy to find even though Hare lane was closed due to road works.Easy access to site even for large outfits. Hardstanding areas could do with some attention to make them user friendly. A lot of traffic noise in mornings. Very Friendly Owners.
We have stayed here a few times, owners always very welcoming and helpful. Really peaceful site, only 5 min drive to chester, a couple of pubs within walking distance. Shall be returning to this site again.
