Excellent Site

Stayed 3 nights in pitch 3. Found the site easy to drive to and access. Only a very short drive off of A35 to the site. The site itself was very clean and maintained, large pitches, and peaceful. The owners were very friendly and nice. Totally recommend!

Superb

This is a wonderful CL with easy access from the A35. It is sheltered, west facing and beautifully kept. There is plenty of room between the hardstanding pitches, with a fresh water tap at each pitch. The disposal area is spotless, there are excellent recycling facilities in an adjacent barn and a very useful information area. Our only regret was having a short visit due to personal circumstances. However, we will definitely be back for an extended visit on another occasion.

The best CL we've ever stayed on.

We had a wonderful 12 night stay here this month. We only use the CL network and this site has got to be the best site we've ever stayed on. The owner, Len, keeps the site so clean and tidy. The grass is mown and collected so no grass in the caravan. A tap and 16amp EHU on each pitch along with free WiFi if required. The cleanest waste and recycling facilities I've seen too. The pitches are level and consist of four hard standing pitches, one large grass pitch and a spare hardstanding pitch as a back up. All have ample room for an awning and a car. They are sited west so you get the best of the sun. There's a large grassed area opposite the pitches with several benches that give views over the hills. Len allows you to walk the dog in a field opposite the farm as long as there aren't any sheep present. There's a little used footpath behind the site also. The owner Len is such a nice chap, full of local knowledge and is on hand should you need anything, nothing is too much trouble for Len and is a joy to chat too. The site is just off the A35 about 2 miles from Bridport. You then travel less than a ¼ mile to the well signposted CL on the left. Do not approach from the other direction as the roads are extremely narrow. So it's 5* from us and we thoroughly recommend that you stay here. We will definitely be back. Thanks very much for such a superb site Len and Sandra. Hope to see you again soon. You can drive to the beaches at Burton Bradstock in about 15 mins and West Bay in 20. Bridport market days, Weds and Saturdays are well worth a visit.

Excellent CL

Just back from a week at Barn House Retreat. What a lovely site. Ideally located to see this part of Dorset. The site is level and very well laid out. Len and Sandra are lovely and make you feel very welcome. Len is very informative about the local area. The access is really good and we will definitely be returning.

Excellent intimate quiet site

We are new to motor homing and as such not sure what to expect, what I will say if all sites are like this one then I will be a very happy camper. Len who is one of the hosts could not have been more helpful, he treated us shortly after arrival with a useful site and area guide and checked in to ensure we were settled, and before leaving ensured that everything had been ok. The site is immaculate only hosting 6 Motorhome/ caravans all on hard standing with water and electric. Plenty to do in the local area, very convenient . Communication prior to our arrival was also first class with very prompt responses. This is close to my parents and I fully intend to return.

Excellent CL

We had a great stay for 3 nights over October half term. Well located site, just a few hundred metres off the main road via a single track road with passing places. Site is really well kept - nothing is out of place and facilities are excellent - water tap to each hardstanding pitch, electric hook up, wifi, easy access to empty grey water and chemical loo and rubbish and recycling points. The owner, Len, was very friendly and on hand to sort any issues - he lent us a spanner for the gas bottle and allowed us to store our bikes under cover. Easy access from the site to Brisport, Burton Bradstoc and the coast.

Dorset Gem

Firstly as Motorhome owners we have a different criteria than Caravaners. We don’t take our Motorhome off site being 7.6 metres though I’m sure some intrepid owners do. Barn House Retreat is brilliant value for money at £22 per night including fair use of electricity. All pitches are hardstanding. Water and Electric on each pitch The site is very easy to access being just off the A35 road to Bridport. Miles of back lanes for cycling. We cycled to Bridport and also West Bay. Buses every 2 hours from the main road, a ten minute walk. No Toilets or showers which is no problem for us. Len is always on hand along with his trusty sidekick Jess the border Collie who rounds up everything from children to cars and Motorhomes…. A friendly and immaculate CL What’s not to like ….
