Wonderful Week in Norfolk

Just back from a 7 night stay at this beautiful and friendly site. Just outside Fakenham, set in the small village of South Creake, this has to be one of the best CL sites in this area, if not the country. The site is very large and predominantly flat, and if pitched correct you have access to your own water and drainage to the trees for grey water. Two very clean and large toilets, one with a shower (10p a minute), with a washing machine and dryer in the other. Honesty box's allow you to pay for the services. A small shed is packed with information for local attractions and there are freezers and fridges for you to use as well as being stocked with basics with suggested prices for the honesty box. Separate recycle bins were a plus, and access to free internet with a usually good signal strength. The only issue we had was poor TV reception on the pitch we were on (4) plus pitch 5 had the same issues. Other pitches seemed to get better signal. This didn't really bother us as we used iPlayer to watch the selected programmes we wanted to see. Very quiet site overall, little road traffic noise, although during the day you will get buzzed by jets from Mildenhall using the nearby disused airfield for practice. The jets were more of an appeal than a bother. Perfectly placed for exploring the North Norfolk coast, we thoroughly enjoyed driving through the small villages and seeing the flint and brick buildings so typical of Norfolk. We loved the coast, with its unspoilt wide and very long beaches, perfect for dog walks and peaceful contemplation. This part of the coast is great fro bird watchers, as well as walkers. We visited Holcombe Park and managed to complete a 10 mile bike ride through the deer park and down to Wells, around the coast through pine forests and back to the park. Holcombe house is a beautiful place to spend a day as is the near by beach. Sandringham is another must to visit, along with Brancaster, Hunstanton, Sheringham and Cromer, as were all the small beach villages. Above all this site is well maintained, spotlessly clean, and David and Lorna are extremely welcoming and friendly. There were even freshly made curry's and lasagne in the freezer if you wanted them. Next to the site is a track for dog walkers and we highly recommend the Jolly Farmers pub in North Creake (just 10 mins drive away) for a really good meal out. Thank you to David and Lorna for providing a fantastic site for us to stay at!
