We arrived to a muddy entrance and grass that hasn’t seen a mower for weeks. There was no-one to meet us or suggest which pitch we might take, although the initial enquiry had been friendly enough.
To access the basic loos (2 of, no shower) you had to walk very close to and behind a large caravan seemingly resident there, and adjacent to a mobile home, the combination of which wasn’t quite right.
Having said that, the location was good for our requirements in Bristol, with fairly easy access.
TV signal is good and mobile phones work well, so there are certainly good points there.
Not the most relaxing or enjoyable experience but serves a purpose if you need to be in that area.
TLC could transform this site, but the impression we got was ‘not really interested’. Shame.
Trains!
We thought the access to the site was reasonably good and the proximity to Bath and Bristol was just where we wanted it, however we didn’t take into account that it was yards from the main train line between London and Bristol which ran 24/7. Therefore our quiet relaxed break became anything but!!
Great find
This campsite was a great find between Bath and Bristol, very large pitches easy access to site reasonably close to the Bath Bristol cycle track 16 amp electric level pitches £ 20-00 a night
We will definitely return. We soo much-loved this site
Spot on
Arrived.. pitched up where we wanted..pleasant welcome...lovely walks..loos clean...bins and waste area all good...good size and level pitches. We had family tenting on the main Adventure and Wildlife park site so this was perfect for us to join them now and again.
People moaning on reviews about the trains..literally only a few each day and then the steam train now and again which was nice to see and hear.
You can Google maps CLs to see how close things like train lines and pubs are...I think some peeps just like a good moan
Short Notice Booking - Wonderful
We booked this site at very short notice and were delighted when we arrived, very warm welcome in a lovely setting. We were looking for somewhere to relax for a few days and absolutely found it. Lovely small site surrounded by fields and sheep. Toilets, drinking water, chemical toilet disposal and bins close by. We will definitely book again.
Just OK
Communication with regard to booking and general info good. Site is very basic with usuals - water EHU, chemical waste and toilets ( but didn’t use them) Would have been much more comfortable if it wasn’t for the fact that is directly next to the main train line from Bristol to Bath. Very loud freight trains trundling along even during the night! Also our weekend was when Avon Valley Country Park had loud a Christmas ice skating/funfare event during the evening. Not sure if we’d stay again.
one night stay
stayed for one night in july 2021 did not expect much for the price so i was not disappointed although the farmer was friendly enough and let us alone to pitch and get on with it, very happy with what i paid
Arrived but did not stay
When booking was made via phone we were told that a pub was within walking distance, this was not the case on arrival.
At the site there was a mini digger, site seemed to be under construction.
Picture does not reflect actual site.
Did not stay as site was not what we are used to.
Well located if you are visiting the Avon Valley Adventure park.
Thanks to everybody.
Very basic £5 a night no frills site, toilets, showers, washing machine, next to the Avon Valley Centre.
Thanks to all the campers that made my stay such an experience, thanks to Liz and Mat, Paul and Linda, Bob from Derby, Darly and his wife, and all the other great people I met. Thanks a million. Let’s hope we meet up again soon somewhere on life’s highway!

OK For The Price
A basic, no frills site. There were tent campers using the site at the time of our visit, it wasn't a problem to us but we did wonder if they were CC members. The waste bins were overflowing and not emptied during our 5 night stay. There are lots of public footpaths crossing the surrounding land with the Avon Valley Trail and Bristol to Bath Railway Path within easy reach.
