River, brook and a lake!

Lisa had assured us that she would warn us before we left home about the river level, so off we went. In the meantime, it poured with rain - yet again! We were offered a nice hard standing adjacent to a lovely lake- aka the CL site! John donned wellies and plugged us in, and by morning the lake had practically gone. But we stayed on our safe hard standing. Lovely walk into village. Pub open under new ownership. Sadly, we never got to sample their menu as midway through our ten day stay, and after a torrential nights rain, Lisa gave us the option of staying put or moving onto another site near Pershore on higher ground. Bless her, it must be a nightmare turning happy campers away. I don’t think river burst its banks, but it looked very full and fast, and I’d never have slept a wink worrying about it, so we moved on. So an eventful 5 days with Lisa and John. We visited Witley Court and Gardens (EH) near Worcester, well worth a visit - and the sun came out. Pershore itself is well worth a visit as is the Almonry Museum in Evesham (closing for renovations sept/Oct 2024 onwards). And I must thank John for mending our badly leaking kitchen sink tap - what a star! There was enough water around without us adding to it.
