Stay

Just returned home after a five night stay, very disappointed the hardstandings are very close together with a small patch of grass separating the pitches the road noise can be heard . Our main problem with this C.L. was the seven caravans on site whilst we were there. When asked about the number of caravans the owner stated the Caravan Club have inspected and only recognise the hard standings as the C.L. although there are three hook ups and water taps on the grass ! ! Also people allowing there dogs to run free and do what dogs do on grass, where children play. No return visit for us !!

Perfect

This is a gem. Really friendly welcome, well spaced pitches and plenty of space to play in with the dog. Good toilet and shower facility. Also excellent B&B which my mum used. Pub is a short and flat cycle ride away. Many thanks we shall return

Our first visit

This was our first visit for 4 nights during February half term but we shall return. On arrival there was nobody home so we made our way into the site and set up on an available pitch. Each pitch has its own EHU and water tap and another camper told us where the toilet and shower was. Mr Brandrick came to see us after he returned from work and made sure we was ok. He gave us the Wifi code which he explained was at no cost. The site is very well kept and there is a nice big lawn in front of the pitches to walk your dogs or play if you want. We walked our dogs down the lane to the right of the drive and was able to let them off as there was very little traffic and the vehicles we did see slowed down which was nice. I have read the previous comments on the traffic noise and will say that we noticed it slightly at night or early morning as we had our bathroom roof light open but otherwise it wasn't too bad. I understand there are several places of interest to visit close by but we stayed in and relaxed. I can imagine it being a wonderful place to be in summer months when you can bbq and sit out.

Big cl site hard standing or grass pitch

Stayed on this cl site for 3 nights. A lovely stay. large site, so can spread out. Hard standing or grass pitch, choice was ours. own tap and power outlet. There is a toilet and shower. £14 a night inc awning, elec, dogs. Entrance is off a countryside road with a nice long drive way upto a gate and through to the site. Tutbury castle/sudbury hall close by. Pubs/shops/take aways a 4 min drive away. Loved it and will go again some time :-)

Different to other cl sites

We had a very warm welcome and was given a hardstanding which was fine : Site very well maintained, but could hear drone of road noise. We were disappointed as we only expected 5vans on the site thinking it was a cl. There were seven vans. One person with two dogs seemed to think it was okay to let his dogs run and foul on the grass area used by children playing football, cricket etc.!!!! The space between each hardstanding was very small and you could see into the next caravan and had to park your car in front of your van. Disappointing.

Great site

Nice clean and incredibly tidy site. No noise from other people. Let's face it, if we object to people sitting outside, smoking and enjoying themselves we should all go home. Good hard standings and individual water supply. Nice clean shower and toilet.

Lovely Site

This site exceeded our expectations by Oh so much and more. Being so close to the business of the midlands and the A50 we weren't expecting the peace and tranquillity this site offers. Only a mile or so from the A50 but your in wonderful countryside with wildlife to die for. On arrival half a mile from the site we were greeted by two Buzzard one passing overhead one viewing us from its perch in a roadside tree. The following day several Buzzard circled overhead and a Peregrine dived low into woods nearby. We woke up to cool weather but the views of the surrounding rolling countryside are spectacular and more than made up for the weather. Small towns nearby are picturesque and there's plenty of larger towns within a 10 mile radius of the site if you should want the hustle and bustle, personally we couldn't wait to get back to the peace and quiet this site offers. The site owner couldn't be more helpful and nothings too much trouble, the sites clean tidy and well kept with plenty of room to relax. Given half a chance will visit this site again without doubt.

slightly dissapointed

we stayed recently and there were many plus's to the stay, quiet (ish), secluded, clean, well kept lawns and beautiful scenery and walks. there are several issues we didn't like and we didn't speak to the owner as he wasn't always about. they may be silly issues to some but to us they made a difference. The charge for the shower is £1 and there are no signs for how to work the meter and timer that is on it. it doesn't tell you the price either, you find out by trying.the toilet doesn,t have paper next to it, possibly because of the long term residents in the B&B. the heater will work when you put the money in too otherwise its cold. There are permanent residents in the B&B which we found to be slightly problematic. this is because they are constantly sitting outside their rooms till all hours of the night/morning smoking and drinking. they will also feed your dogs if the dogs are off lead and they are there. wake up calls when they go to work at 6am running car engines to defrost them are quite common. other site users also complained of this. there is also an issue with the electric hook ups. we were often subjected to power shorts and for one night no electricity at all. the owner didn't even bother to come and check we were all ok, we all checked on each other and made sure everyone had all they needed. everywhere was out including the B&B. When we paid we were not offered any reduction for this. The price quoted on here is £12 per night it is in fact £14 per night. we were happy enough to pay this but not for the service we didn't recieve. I wouldn't go back there again unless he changes some things like declaring charges and his permanent residents.

Peaceful and Scenic

We stayed at Aston Heath Farm for the first time in October and wished we could have stayed longer.  The scenery is outstanding and the site is well-maintained.  The shower/WC was immaculate and warm.  You need to pay for the shower (coin meter) which lasts just about long enough. We had a warm welcome soon settled in.  We have a motorhome and there was hard standing which was level so we didn't need to do any adjusting. Each pitch has HU and fresh water tap. We will definitely stay here again.
