Peaceful site

What's not to like? A pitch under and between trees. Yes, it's got that. A pitch far from others. Yes, its got that. A pitch quite close to the (only) water tap and facilities. Yes, its got that. Childrens playground. No. Clubhouse. No. Constricted pitches. No. All good so far then. Toilet and shower facilities. Sparkling, and with heaters for the cooler months :-) Site owners. Unobtrusive, but very helpful when asked (I had a puncture on my car and Mike was kind enough to lend me his heavy duty jack, which was better than the one I had) Wildlife: lots on site, rabbits, birds, and the wandering chickens of course. Downsides to the site: No dogs allowed - but my dog is buried in our garden now, so not an issue at the moment for us. And not much else worth mentioning! Whilst you're there, take a walk in Moccas Hill Wood, (Google it) just down the road from the site. You can have a little circular walk around the wood, or a couple of hours trek on easy paths around the perimeter, and along the ridge line with glorious views - you may even see your caravan!

Idealic tranquility

Ash Meadow is the epitome of tranquility.  Acres of space per outfit. Very high quality toilet and shower facilities.  To share this site with rabbits and meandering chickens was rural therapy of the highest order.  We went to Hay to add to our library, successfully I am happy to say.  Ash Meadow was a delightful library extension - peace and quiet to read our new acquisitions.  The heat of my City life was a long way off as I sank into the rural arms of the temptress Miss Ash Meadow.

Lovely spacious CL

We have just returned from staying for a fortnight from June 7th 2016. What a lovely spacious site with well mown grass and a very friendly welcome. We tend to use our own facilities but the shower and toilets were immaculate if needed. It was nice to see the chickens able to roam around freely and they were quite entertaining at times.

Ozzie & Flo on Tour

We stayed here at the end of the 2015 season and it is an excellent CL. Plenty of room, great location and as good a welcome as you can expect. We just use our on-board facilities but there is an excellent toilet/shower block if you need one. We have stayed here once before in a folding camper and the shower was particularly welcome. The only challenge is some tight turns through Hay-on-Wye if you are arriving from the North but well worth the effort.

All you could ask for in a CL

This was our first caravan trip. Very welcoming and friendly owner. Beautiful location and excellent facilities. The field was very well maintained, ideal for children due to space and roaming chickens. The shower and toilet facilities were very clean and in a newly built block. Will definitely be returning again soon.

Excellent CL....

After a very helpful phone call on route we were given excellent directions and welcomed on site by Mike. We had no issues with any real slopes and had a great few days in such a peaceful location.  Would visit again in a heart beat. Each morning we were welcomed by the chickens and cockerels, along with wonderful bird song. Fantastic. Great facilities in the shower and toilet block should you need them (we tend to use our own) and plenty of recycle bins. Very close to Hay on Wye for its book and antique shops.

What a 'find'.

A warm welcome by Mike, who was very relaxed about our delayed start to the holiday, due a problem with our caravan, but was happy to accomodate us. A lovely spot with excellent facilities.A 20p slot machine for the shower, and two toilets. Dont be too worried about the gentle sloping meadow. We were fortunate to drive into a spot near hook up and be dead level! A well laid out site with plenty of bins and recycling facilities, and well labelled but discreetly placed chemical disposal point. Good place to base yourself if visiting Hereford and Hay on Wye.

What a CL should be

We stayed with our folding Conway camper at the beginning of August 2013 for three nights and thought it was just what we wanted from a CL. The amenity block is very good. The EH was excellent. Mike was very welcoming and friendly. The field is roomy and the EH points are very well spaced so there is no reason to feel hemmed in. During our stay we were alone so felt a bit spoilt by having the place to ourselves. Just be careful if you are following a SatNav from the any direction but particularly the North. Use your common sense and don't approach over Dorstone Hill. Other than that access from the road and on site is excellent.

Nice place to stay

We only stayed for 2 nights, but we would have stayed longer if we had more time, we enjoyed the site and the surroundings are outstanding, the owner came to have a chat with us on the afternoon we arrived and made us welcome, the toilet block was nice and clean and so was the shower, all in all a great place to stay

Whitsun 2013

Such a beautiful site, if it's peace and tranquillity your after this is it !! Well kept with wonderful hill views and the toilet block with modern facilities was an added bonus. Lots to see and do and plenty of walks. Had a wonderful time. Poor TV reception and sometimes nothing. Tesco mobile does not work - Orange & Virgin OK
