Pleasant Stay
We stayed three nights on this site and having read the last few reviews, which I mostly agree with, it has more merit than just a stopover while travelling north or south on the M5. Yes it has access to plenty of country walking but it is also only a short drive from the city of Gloucester. You can either use the Waterwells Park and Ride at Quedgeley (not motorhome friendly) or drive the full 7 miles there to visit the restored historic dock yards, the magnificent cathedral or just to shop in the Quays, a large indoor designer outlet. We did all three and while I did see motorhomes in Gloucesters' carparks we drove there in our towed car, parking in the Quays multistory carpark. You can also catch a bus to Gloucester or Stroud from the stop located at the CL site entrance. Google indicates it is an hourly service.
The access road into the site is is a little rough and needs to be taken slowly, especially to the hardstanding area if you want to avoid crossing the grassed area. With little to no rain forecast, we chose a grass pitch and while some pitches are "levelish" you will need to level up in most areas. Access to drinking water for a motorhome using a hose is good and smaller vehicles can easily pull alongside the waste disposal point (slight slope) to make emptying black and grey waste less of a chore.
Would we use this site again? Yes is the answer, it has a lot going for it.
