Beautiful, secluded tranquil spot.

Arrived to a warm welcome from Vicki, her little girl and a very happy dog. My boys loved being able to play out safely, play catch with the dog and follow the hens, and they especially loved being able to see all the farm animals. A lovely, clean, quiet site in a secluded spot but close enough to neighbouring villages with pubs, cafes and little village shops should you wish to have a spot of lunch. Also close by is Gisburn Forest if you fancy a relaxing walk, some bird watching or for the more energetic there are mountain bike trials. I’d really recommend this site if you’re after pure relaxation or a safe, friendly place for young children. There’s currently no toilet blocks but we managed just fine and talking to the owner, they have some fantastic plans. Oh and don’t forget to get some fresh eggs for your breakfast-delicious!

Just Beautiful

Super welcome by Vicki, even though we arrived quite late. Very quiet site, gorgeous views. Down the road in Sawley there is a dog friendly pub. Ideal base for the local attractions, or like us a peaceful, relaxing weekend. We would certainly recommend a stay at Acre Hill Farm Campsite. Thank you.

First visit

Just bought our first caravan and decided not to go too far. Found Acre Hill and booked two nights. Stunning scenery. If you want peace and tranquillity this is the place or you. Vicki made us really welcome and was available if we needed anything. Loved it so much we are going back next week.

Lovely weekend despite the rain!

Directions are spot on - easy to find. Arrived in the rain and had a very wet Saturday, but it dried up on Sunday. Lovely views and very tranquil. There is hardstanding for your caravan. No issues at all.

perfect site for a peaceful break

Just spent a few days at the Acre Hill CL nr. Clitheroe, which I can recommend if you want a peaceful break. This is a beautifully located site, with fantastic views over the local area, accessing the site is best via the instructions in the site directory . The site is basic, but clean and tidy, with well laid out pitches, electric hook up and good TV reception. This is an ideal site if you need to get away for quite break, whilst still having access to local amenities.

A week near Clitheroe

If you are thinking about a few days away in this area use this site as your base camp. Access this site as per the book as other routes to it could be a bit tricky, it is a lovely peaceful site with good sized pitches that are level with hard standing and electric hook ups. There are lovely views of the great countryside that surrounds the site. You will be met by Raf the friendly three legged sheep dog who loves to play. This is a truly beautiful area of the country to visit and we will be returning soon.

VERY ENJOYABLE STAY

We picked acre hill purely because it was the first site we found with availability over the bank holiday weekend, but so glad we managed to get a pitch here. We loved the tranquility and the scenery it lovely. There is just electric hook up, no other facilities, but that suits us. We had a warm welcome by a very pleasant lady and Raf the dog was our best friend within minutes of arriving . The site is well cared for with a grassed area in the centre and hard standing pitches around the perimeter. Cant fault the site and the only thing that i can think of that could be a slight negative, is that access to the site requires driving down country lanes which are a little narrow and up and down, not a problem if you're confident towing, but a newbie might find it a bit nerve wracking.

You won't be disappointed!

The site's worth it for the stunning views if nothing else. Hardstanding and hook-up is what you want outside of the summer season. Fresh free-range eggs for sale, and Vicki is lovely. Fabulous walking area often over-looked for The Lakes and Yorkshire Dales. The Forest of Bowland is a real gem. If it rains go into Clitheroe and visit Cowmans - the famous sausage shop - plus lots of pubs like Hark To Bounty in nearby Slaidburn - you can't be disappointed!

A Pleasant Site in a Beautiful Location

We enjoyed four nights on this pleasant site. It is located just behind a working farm. We had a friendly welcome from Vicki. Delicious free range eggs available. Lovely views from the site, including Pendle Hill. Great base for walking from the site itself, or access to the Hodder Valley and Forest of Bowland is just a short drive away. Donkey and hens in field next to CL and friendly three legged dog will pay you a visit. Lovely pubs in the area. We definitely intend to return to this site.
