Exactly what a CL should be
Acre Hill is a working farm with a CL site maintained by Vicki. She was there to welcome us on arrival and we saw her a number of times during our stay. Prior to arrival she rang me to say that there may be a problem with roadworks on the advised route and offered an alternative. As it happens the road works were finished prior to our journey and she rang again to let us know. The directions on this website are spot on, We tow a 7.3m caravan and had no problems, therefore best to follow the instructions rather than sat nav.
The site was very tidy and organised, with the grass cut and very scenic views. EHU and water close by. Vicki also sells fresh hen/duck eggs. Our pitch wasn't quite level but i carry a couple of planks of wood rather than ramps which were all that was needed to level up. From here there is easy access to the Trough of Bowland, Clitheroe and surrounding area. would definitely recommend.
