Exactly what a CL should be

Acre Hill is a working farm with a CL site maintained by Vicki. She was there to welcome us on arrival and we saw her a number of times during our stay. Prior to arrival she rang me to say that there may be a problem with roadworks on the advised route and offered an alternative. As it happens the road works were finished prior to our journey and she rang again to let us know. The directions on this website are spot on, We tow a 7.3m caravan and had no problems, therefore best to follow the instructions rather than sat nav. The site was very tidy and organised, with the grass cut and very scenic views. EHU and water close by. Vicki also sells fresh hen/duck eggs. Our pitch wasn't quite level but i carry a couple of planks of wood rather than ramps which were all that was needed to level up. From here there is easy access to the Trough of Bowland, Clitheroe and surrounding area. would definitely recommend.

Released from lockdown and first visit to this hidden gem!

This was our first visit to this lovely CL but will certainly not be our last. Needed a spacious pitch to try out our new caravan and Vicki came up trumps giving us a huge pitch, with beautiful views and, as it turned out, glorious weather too. Vicki is charming and helpful and brings fresh laid eggs each day if we need them. The site is easy to find, well laid out with good basic facilities and close enough to all local attractions yet peaceful and clean. Thank you for a great stay Vicki, we can highly recommend.

What a fantastic location

We stayed for the first weekend after lockdown on the overflow pitch outside the main caravan area, but it was perfect, qyiet and the free range chickens kept my daughters attention for hours, very clean, covid safe, reliable electric supply, very friendly owners, farm fresh eggs for sale. Plus only a short drive from settle or Clitheroe, we will be definitely going back one of our new favourites.

Very nice small site

We have just spent a lovely 5 days in our motorhome at this peaceful site. It is set in picturesque surroundings, in the quiet countryside. The site is extremely well kept, clean and tidy, with well thought out pitches. Vikki is lovely, very friendly and helpful. The gardens are pretty, and the fresh, free range eggs are delicious. The chickens wander in and out, following you around, curious about what you are doing. Although the title is Acre Hill Farm, the only animals are the chickens and ducks, and the driveway leads directly to the site gate, so no driving through mud etc. There are 5 caravan pitches and 2 motorhome pitches. We are definitely going again as it is an easy drive from home and perfect for a mini break.

Away from it all.....

This is truly a quiet peaceful site, with the exception of the odd tractor, it's a working farm. The site is extremely well kept and I've never seen bins emptied as often ! Level pitches some of different sizes to cater for different outfits, so would be advantageous to mention the size when you book, but you have a view from every pitch of rolling hills. Warm welcome and felt relaxed as soon as we drove through the gate. Short drive to Clitheroe, who knew they had a castle! great shops and market day on Saturday. Great site we will return. Couple of things to note, please follow the instructions and go through Sawley, otherwise you will be doing the AA rally! Also there is practically no mobile or internet signal, but I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing.......

A very restful place to stay

A great little site to stay at to charge the batteries and walk the dogs. A very nice garden centre just down the road for a look round and an ice cream. Vicki was very helpful and welcoming. Would recommend for a short break.

WE LOVE THIS SITE 😍

Myself and some friends stayed on this site last year. Vicky was so lovely and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The site is a lovely small site and has beautiful views. Nothing was too much trouble for the site owners. The amenities are all close by. There are some great little places to visit close by. You won't be disappointed. We're due to go again shortly, we can't wait. It's definitely one of our favourite sites and we've been to loads. 5 stars all around x

An almost perfect site

Lovely little site with beautiful views over the forest of bowland, wonderful welcome by Vicki, and while we were there, they were re-stoning all the areas in a lovely white lime stone, making the site even prettier. the only reason I have given it 4 stars, instead of 5, is that half the pitches are too small except for the smallest of awnings, so be aware if you need the extra space. but would we go again? definitely!
