Good for dogs

Contrary to other reviewers we find no major problems with access. Simply follow the owners advice and pull in to the wide setback double farm entrance opposite. From here you can open the gate and have better visibility around the bends. No problem. Just 50 yards from the gate there is a superb enclosed dog walk that leads through to the local housing estate. You have to navigate the main road to get there but you only have to walk on the road for about 10 yds. Well worth it and we always use this site now when we are in the area. We have never been bothered by the road noise which we cannot hear at all inside the van.

Nice CL but beware of the gates.

We we made very welcome at this well kept cl. However we have a major issue with the access. Whilst the width of the gateway is fine the positioning of the, always kept closed, gates at the roadside requires you to stop on the carriageway when entering or leaving the site. Couple this to the fact that the entrance is close to two sharp bends both with limited visibility, on a busy road makes this a very uncomfortable experience.  We received verbal abuse from other motorists whilst arriving.

Comment from The Club:

Many thanks for leaving a review. We are sorry to hear that you had issues accessing the site. The CL Owner has been in touch and has informed us that she has cut the hedges back as much as possible. And she is also removing and lowering some of the hedges to improve visibility. As advised in the directory and on the website, all visitors are asked to pull off the road opposite the site entrance which belongs to the farm. This will enable opening the gates and giving good visibility to enter the site. I hope this helps to address your concerns and once again thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

Nice site shame about the road

Very nice welcome from the owners son who gave full information on both the site and the area. On her return from work the very helpful owner also gave a very comprehensive introduction to the site and area. Unfortunately, the B class road to the site is so busy we felt we were alongside the A1. Traffic noise was constant until well after 10pm and started again with a boom boy before 5am. The site entry/exit is trough double gates immediately on the roadside and this necessitates stopping and holding up the traffic between two bends. The hedges also greatly restricts vision of fast moving traffic. The owner can do nothing about the road noise however removal of the gates or setting them back which would enable entry/exit to the site without the need to stop on the road to open or close the gates would greatly improve the safety.

Noisy site

A friendly welcome by the owner to a small site with adequate facilities. Access is from a busy road through double gates and we held up a string of HGVs trying to enter the site. The road is a ratrun from local motorway and was busy and noisy for the duration of our stay. The walk to the garden centre is rubbish strewn and circles the local household refuse site. Views across the hedges are good. If peace and tranquillity are important to you then best to choose a different site. There is no footpath outside the CL and we found walking off site dangerous.

Smashing little site

Sadly we were only booked for one night as a stop over on our way south, nicely laid out with plenty of room between the caravans, we received a very warm welcome off the owner and she kindly pointed out where the facilities were and which pitch to occupy. Levelling ramps used as partially sloping not a lot but slightly so worth remembering. Certainly may consider using site again for a longer visit to possibly explore the local area.
