Refillable Gas Systems

Ok here goes - being a Safefill owner that is the one I know most about and I like it because I can see the level of gas - it is lightweight and the saving over the price of Calorlite is substantial if you are a heavy user.  It makes even more sense to use a refillable if you are going across the water as you can refill there - whereas Calor is not obtainable (not anywhere I have been anyway).  There were three sizes but the grapevine said the smallest has been discontinued.

There is also Gaslow which until I saw a recent post I thought was a permanent fixed refillable probably more convenient for a Motorhomer, but I see they have free standing cylinders too.  When I looked at Gaslow it appeared to be far more expensive to set up for a caravanner than Safefill - but I could have been looking in the wrong place.

Gasit - is another I believe but I know nothing about it.

Anyone filled up with LPG at Morrisons recently? I understand they are no longer allowing refillables to be topped up including Gaslows.

There was an announcement on mylpg recently that Morrisons would in future only supply LPG for the purpose of powering vehicles.

All refillable systems, whether permanently fitted or not, would be refused.

Thanks, be interesting to know if this is actually the case. My local Morrisons does not sell LPG.

Since they are tucked up in their kiosk, I find it hard to see how they will enforce that without patrolling the forecourt.

nor does mine, unfortunately.....however, I do have a Countrywide Farmers depot less than two miles away, although I haven't been there for a while.

my 'go to' fill point is the Esso station at the A303 Podimore roundabout, I pass it on our trips east and south...but I haven't been there for a few weeks so don't know if the supply 'issue' nas affected them...

ill probably give them a call before popping in .....

Oh dear! The outlook is getting bleaker by the week, I have still not found anywhere to top up my Gaslows.

Sorry, should have said administration not receivership. Mole Valley wanted to step in but monopolies prevented them.
