Hi

I have scoured the discussion for the answer  but cannot find a comment.

We have the usual orange 25 metre cable, how do you wind it? We have used an old hose reel, the usual orange wheel with the handle (cant recall its name), but when the cable is cold its awful, similarly the connectors get in the way of the cable being reeled in.....suggestions?

Sneering Diatribe?

The only thing that BB got wrong was his statement that his beer would as cold as yours.......Actually it has the potential to be colder because the fridges work better on gas, come to think about it so does the heating.

...are 12v LED spotlights not sufficient for reading?

ours couldnt be brighter....also OH's kindle seems to have a bright enough backlight to be read in what i would describe as 'dim light'....

if it were 'vital' to have an old fashioned mains-type 'filament' light bulb, it would run perfectly well from the smallest of inverters....so this could be done easily without a mains supply.

Nope, LED's and halogen both trigger my migraines so are a total no go. The backlight on the kindle is no good for me either - although I like the voyage better than my previous paperwhite. I read under a 60 watt spotlight bulb.

Not sure OH would cope without his PC either, he likes playing Settlers on holiday, so we will stick to hook up and multiple leads if we need to.

To reurn to the OP though, OH reckons its bad for the cable to wind it, so it is just loosely coiled, wiped and popped in a bin bag on the floor.  He nearly lays eggs when he sees people on site using them still coiled around their reels.
