LPG Gas filling stations

In the light of a recent thread about the apparent closure of LPG pumps at filling stations I came upon the idea that we could start a list whist filling my new safe filll cylinder (other makes available).that it would not be a bad idea for those of us who have found filling stations that are still selling LPG to post them on here.

So here is my contribution to start the ball rolling.

The winning post, A38 Northbound, Halcon Hill, Devon EX6 7XS.

Paid 59.9p per litre

Hope this will become useful. Maybe a moderator might light to put a sticky thing on this as well.

Does the refusal to fill Safefill include Morrisons, AS, as I understood they were onboard with the scheme?

None of our local Morrison’s do LPG unfortunately.

I’ve checked any on the list on the IW and though they do do LPG neither will allow us to refill safefill cylinders. At one we were told they were only alto fill cars.  There is different VAT on LPG for cars to cylinders.  Not much but a difference.

*only allowed to fill cars

We second that, asparagus is amazing at £2.00 at least 20 spears and eggs at £1.20 per 1/2 dozen. Farm shop recommended by Nicola at skybarn cl.👍

With regard to Andy’s Gas @ Cribbs Causeway Bristol, called in off the M5 on our way down to Somerset. Thursday lunchtime with a 13.5 meter car and van fitted2 bottle Gaslow system to replenish and found their artic being unloaded in the middle of the yard🤪 Very helpful yard staff and within 15 minutes got turned around refuelled and on our way. Long story short is that they asked if ‘anyone with a towed unit is calling in’ can you phone ahead to see if they can accommodate. Telephone number is 01179074327. Again 100% for service👍 Will definitely use again after a quick phone call😜

This surprised me when I read it. I know of two garages that filled Safefills. I went 3 yrs ago and I was OK then- I cant see that it has changed. The garages in question are owned by the same guy John Ward. One is almost opposite the gates of Osborne House- that’s all I can remember except when I filled up the cashier cane running out to tell me I couldn’t fill. I explained that I had spoken to her boss, showed her the cylinder which she admitted she had never seen before and all was OK- again- education!

Thanks Shuckford- very useful. I can’t fault Andys Gas- they make you feel that you are doing them a favour rather than the other way around!

I fill my safefill at MMS Gas power Croft Lane Gailey Stafford ST19 5PY

It’s about 5 minutes off Junction 12 of the M6.

They fill your cylinder at 0.56p per litre . Their website does state they are open 7 days a week but that is not always the case!
