Can you see Tesco advertising the offers at Sainsburys. Thats what its like.Too many chiefs at Ho with nothing todo. Get real and start pruning. Following these offers we have used them and lost hundreds of pounds income to the club.We cant be alone.

Write your comments here...But you could say the same about CL's, while people use these they are not staying on Club sites so losing income.  I fail to see your argument, the club have passed on an offer that Haven offer to many groups or individuals, they may even get a kick back of the fees charged which may or may not offset the profit not income from someone staying on  a Club site who knows, perhaps someone from HO can enlighten us.

PS its nice to see someone advocating getting rid of jobs that people do in HO, remember like any organisation its only a few at the top that get big salaries, most are on more normal average wages.

This is a club, not a commercial busines. If the club gets an offer that might appeal to its members then it should publish it as part of the dervice it provides and indeed the discount might attract new members.

In the main I would doubt many people regard club sites and Haven ones as alternatives although a few seem to. The two are so different and the club has no difficulty with occupation levels in most sites near Haven ones so it is not a problem for them.

Not sure id agree that club sites are overflowing midweek and off season....this is exactly the time that canny vanners are looking for a pitch at half the midweek CC price...

you can keep incentivising the opposition without losing some business to them....

many commercials, including Haven are running midweek pitches (incl water and drainage) for a maximum of £15 a night, sometimes a lot less than this...i know this as my last 3 nights have been at this rate across two different sites, neither a Haven site which would have been even lower.

my midweek price of £25 at Broadway was as high as the weekend rate.Sad

We spent several days last week down near Perranporth and walked across Penhale Dunes, overlooking the Haven site every day.

My advice to anyone thinking of taking up Haven's offerdown there over the next couple of months involves bargepoles which shouldn't be handled! Wink

We have stayed at haven Porthmadog 15th April this year full service pitch 14 nights £184.50 including all the sites entertainment programme. That was with the caravan club discount. We tend to go there opening week when it is even cheaper under £10.00 a night full service pitch. You will get the discount but you have to tell them on the phone. We have been going there for the last 7  years and never had a bad word to say about haven.

Well, M, you obviously didnt look very closely....rather just seeing the size of the site and forming an opinion.

the Euro Pitch touring is right away from the rest of the site, is quiet, far more modern in pitch and shower/toilet facilities than any CC site we've been on, and each pitch has its own power, drainage and fresh water supply....totally light years away from a typical CC site, in terms of standard.

yes, of course the 'other'part of the Haven empire is going to be very busy as the season gets underway, but the extra facilities are fully optional....no one will make you play bingoUndecided

however, the occasional meal in one of the restaurants is fine, as is a cool beer on one of the terraces.....

...but if you just want a (first class) touring pitch in a great location at a price the club just couldnt get near, then give it a try....not you, of courseWink

Actually, BB, we walked back right through the site and, take my word for it, even you wouldn't want to be there at this time of year. Unless, of course, you're a fan of sites with vans packed in cheek by jowl - try booking for next weekend if you don't believe me.

As for price, try comparing Haven Perran Sands with Treamble Valley in July/August. I put a comparison on another thread several weeks ago. Treamble Valley about 30% cheaper per night.

Horses for courses, obviously, but Haven in July and August? No thanks very much! Happy

...and nor would i...nor anywhere else for that matter....Wink

but the euro touring pitches are not cheek by jowell....they even have hedges between the pitches IIRC...

are you sure you were in the right place, up at the top of the site toward the exit?....not on the sandy grass down the bottom...

these pitches are so new they dont even show on google maps  satellite view....

We enquired of that Haven site in Perranporth last August, it was £78/night for a basic grass pitch with hook up. Sad

We did 1 week at a commercial site on a fully serviced pitch with facilities ie swimming pool, kids castle, play area, skate park, tennis courts, penny arcade, bar, restaraunt, entertainment for £30/night. At Watergate Bay.

We then did the second week at CC  Trewethett Farm on a grass pitch with hook up for £33/night.

KS - another good alternative, just across the road from Haven is Tollgate Farm if you're ever down that way again. Happy
