Caravan Insurance Back with the club !

I am back insured with the Club after a long absence. What I liked was the simple quote system  and the straightforward questions. My requirements are very simple as I have an older van on a seasonal pitch on a none club site where they also provide my winter storage. Having discussed touring again with my other half we decided we were happy in Pembrokeshire at our gem of a site. I don't need contents cover as there is little apart from the TV worth taking . I just want market value cover should the van get stolen catch fire or roll down a hill and do some third party damage. Others oblige but have so many exclusions you wonder if they would pay if you claimed. Yes my £61 policy is good value beating Mr Pickles by £14 . The ability to remove things I did not need is a great bonus. Don't tour but will remain a member plenty of goof benefits and you never know may tour again one day.

It's good to hear you've got the cover that you wanted. As I read it you paid £61 for an older caravan that doesn't tour and no contents. The club's advert on FB offers "From just £49* for the year – our Caravan Cover, your protection. We’ll be there when you need us."

What sort of cover and what age caravan could this figure apply to? I would have thought you had the most basic cover and no touring liability. Is the figure they quote totally unrealistic???

The postcode can have a large effect

My caravan is an Ace Twinstar 2005 insured for £4000 for caravan only. no contents insurance . With many other companies they bundle in things I don't need and have lots of exclusions. They ask security questions that you may not be able to answer in an informed way about site security.Ours is a very secure site and the Manages live on site but who knows if they are resident every night ???

I delved a little deeper on FB, because the club always respond on FB if not here 😉 and this is what it said

Hi Mike, £49 is based on £2000 limit of cover for caravan and equipment, £500 limit of cover for contents and £50 excess with 4 years+ No Claims Discount 😊 ~Meg

So Bogland you're only just over 😁

I renewed mine yesterday- little more than that above, in fact quite a bit more but I always feel safe being insured with the club. Having had a van stolen, I know that they will deal with any claim (God forbid) fairly and swiftly. I had to bump the contents/accessories  up this year with all the non EHU kit aboard! but the premium was very fair and I was very satisfied. Wouldn’t insure with anyone else

I am also back with the club with the new caravan - very pleased with the system.  I had the old caravan with the other club and tried them for the new one - and asked for two different quotes - new for old etc etc.  Not only did they fail to send either quote via email as agreed but they eventually sent an invoice for one of the options which arrived too late to act upon as I needed the insurance to start three days after the phone call!  Not very efficient.  Well done the Club!

We tried the club when we got the new caravan but they were almost double the company we decided to go with.

I agree, I moved to the C&CC for that reason but check each time renewal comes around. All insurance companies try to screw existing customers whilst fawning over new ones. wink

We once had to leave a caravan in France for a couple of weeks when we had to fly home urgently to deal with a family emergency. We found out later that caravan insurance with this Club didn't cover that situation, and of course if you store a caravan overseas the policy doesn't cover that either. So it's a No from me.
