Showers in caravans

I was wondering how to prolong an hot shower in our caravan. I seem to remember seeing on the tv Caravan show - Caravanfinder TV -recently about a device /boiler modification that can prolong the hot water consumtion to the shower. I also am aware of the Ecocamel shower head attachment that mixes air and water to the shower head, are they any good? and roughly how long does an hot water tank last using an Ecocamel head?

Its the cleaning down and drying the shower and screen that I hate, do others do that after every shower or just leave it to dry naturally?

Always wipe the walls and door down, we are not blessed with an all in one plastic shower unit. Ours had the textured walls, so I make sure all the seals are dry, but still prefer our own shower to the site facilities.

We occasionally use our caravan shower, but only ever when we are on a full serviced pitch with water hook-up and drainage.  Like others, we could be bothered with carrying all the water.

How long does it take to have a stroll to the nearby tap and fill an aquaroll and stroll back? to me it's all part of the holiday, there is no plane to catch or rush to get to the tap first or wait hours to queue up but if people don't like to do that then it's their business, their holiday. Each to their own so they say. We don't carry our water either, we have two aquarolls so it is easy to just pull along.

I have used our shower just once to see if it was any good, my wife refuses point blank to even try it as she feels claustraphobic in it. I only book sites with shower facilties to save any arguments.

I feel that those who don't use their own facilties are really missing out on great sites such as CLs etc. Water management only takes a few minutes a day

AA - yes I realise we're missing out on some stunning locations. But for us, it's not about water management, it's practicalities. We simply don't have room in the van to be able to use the shower. Happily, though, we are prepared to use non facility sites if it's just for a couple of nights or so, even if it does mean we end up a bit whiffy!  Wink

Moulesy I already worry about how much stuff I pack in my van.  If I used the shower to store things it would be much worse!  I already have to move a few bits to get in it!

Thanks everyone for all your help, we have now decided to buy an Ecocamel showerhead and boost the heater settings using electric/gas heater next time out.

In the UK the question is not "Will it rain?" but "How long for this time", so why has no enterprising manufacturer come up with a simple add-on false roof for caravans that chanels the rainwater into the supply tank?
