Showers in caravans

I was wondering how to prolong an hot shower in our caravan. I seem to remember seeing on the tv Caravan show - Caravanfinder TV -recently about a device /boiler modification that can prolong the hot water consumtion to the shower. I also am aware of the Ecocamel shower head attachment that mixes air and water to the shower head, are they any good? and roughly how long does an hot water tank last using an Ecocamel head?

We've caravanned for nearly 40 yrs, in all conditions, and have used a shower in the caravan ever since there became a standard fitting. I don't have any problem filling our water barrel or disposing of the grey water. Must admit that with the Aldi rapid water heater it ensures that we have plenty of hot water. We leave it switched on during showering so that there's hot water available again after one of us has finished drying and getting dressed.

Simple. You shower on Monday,Wednesday and Fridays and the OH on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays leaving you both clean one day either side of Sunday, thus proving John Wesley's maxim that "cleanliness is next to Godliness". Wink

Somebody commented that a poster gave too much information in his post. I would say there was not quite enough information. When he said Quote :-

" Using site facilities depends on your personal level of  hygiene you can't beat your own facilities. I have heard on more than one ocassion two men talking in the loos and one saying to the other that he had a good **** whilst showering and also onmore than one ocassion a male saying that his wife has done it as well. I'll never use site facilities I prefer my own personal facilities that's what they are there for but it's each to their own. Your body your choice"  End quote.

I am left wondering what the 4 lettered word in asterisks was.  ---- For clarification can you, without mentioning the word, let us know if it started with the letter S or the letter P

It starts with the letter "P". It's amazing listening to other peoples conversations sometimes. Either they are proud of what they do or simply forget that there are people around within earshot.

We use the caravan shower and have never run out of water. The caravan has an ecocamel head but to be frank we have not noticed any difference to the previous carvans.

Not sure where the 60 litre figure for a shower comes from but it looks a lot to us.

We use the caravan for convenience and comfort. It is far easier for us to use and no walk accross the site in cold and wet weather, no cold concrete or tiled floor and a nice warm carpet to get out onto.

We're with you Nellie and Wildwood, we have always used ours.  It's the main reason we bought our caravan, OH loved the bathroom.  As we're on a no facility site at the moment (which we enjoy) we have to!

The submariners shower was wet, rub, rinse. I used the same technique in Greece due to water shortages. Have not run out of water yet!

Mostly use the onsite facilities but we have used the vans, good shower Ecocamel with 100 lts to play with and 10 lts in  hot water tank there is no skimping, if we are using the vans facilities we never turn the hot water heater off, we run it at 1kw then turn up to 2kw prior to shower so second person has plenty then turn back down to 1 kw afterwards.

Its the cleaning down and drying the shower and screen that I hate, do others do that after every shower or just leave it to dry naturally?
