Does anyone know if you can easily remove a Truma chimney and a circular TV arial from a caravan roof in order to allow a caravan cover to fit properly over the van ?

Not necessary.  The better makes of cover are model specific and should allow for the aerial  and cowling.  However if you have a cover which requires you to remove these then I would not like to break the seals so would follow BB's advice.

C, they may well be 'tailor made' for the job with regard to shape, but my point was about leaving a caravan undercover for a long period and whether this was 'henerally' a god thing or not.....

I've had MHs for ten years and have never had the slightest inkling to cover any of them...

ok, we don't leave it on the drive for very long before we're off again, but  I'd be very conscious of 'breatheability' re comdensation considering how many stories we get concerning damp..

yes, it will keep leaves and dirt out....and rain....but I'd be more concerned about things like mould, damp etc....

We cover the flue and aerial with a thick towel before carefully putting the cover on. We find this stops the cover tearing. It's our first cover and in our experience it is great with no mould or other issues internally and would highly recommend one.

what's that got to do with anything?

i wouldn't put a breathable (or otherwise) cover in a MH either...

we here many stories about mould in caravans, probably manifest during periods of downtime, adding a cover (of any sort) during such a period is, IMV, more likely to exacerbate this type of situation than prevent it.

...and if it's not used for 'periods of downtime' why bother with the hassle anyway?
