Pest-proof outdoor boxes

No. my sister is not throwing me out of her caravan, but...

When parked up she would like to store some bits outside to make more room. In particular dog food, etc. She is concerned about animals such as foxes chewing their way through.

Can anyone suggest modest (say 5kg) storage boxes, washing up bowls etc, with secure lids that are not likely to be chewed up and scattered all over the campsite overnight?

Thank you.

20 years ago we used an ammunition box about 18 x 12 x 6 inches for dog food stored under the caravan

Good grief ET! It is an Eriba, not a panzersealed

Thank you. A good consideration. You can get them in all sorts of sizes.

We have used  plastic storage boxes ,that are available  everywhere, under our leisure vehicles for years and never had a "break in" after our dogs food and we always have had kibble type

Thank you.  I felt the same,  I often store food outside under my camper and never had a problem but my Sister, used to living in rural "farm" locations, is a bit paranoid about foxes and probably just needs the reassurance of other peoples experiences.

we often use those plastic storage boxes that are designed to fit under a bed so that they will fit under the van. You can get various sizes, ours were 1m by 0.5m. We have ones where the lid snaps on quite strongly.

Thank you Corners.

As long as it's pest proof, I must admit I have never had a problem but as explained above Jo is very pest conscious.

Well, having to share a house with me she would be surprised

We take a freezer box with our frozen stuff and then (when emptied into the fridge once its cold) use it for storage under the van.
