can anybody tell me where the battery is located on a Peugeot boxer 2ltr Ellis’s auto quest 185?

I would like to put a trickle charger on the battery as it is going to be stood for quite a while the current unpleasantness persists.

Thanks.

CharlieB.

what year? if its after 2006 it will be under the rubber flooring ahead and to the right of the passenger seat.

does your ehu set up not charge habitation AND cab battery?

if so, just plug in your ehu cable for a while.

or...does your van have a solar set up that charges all batteries?

It’s a 2019 l have now found it and it was where you said, thank you. I do not think that the solar charges the vehicle battery.Being new to this motor home world means I am still learning.

Thank you for reply.

If the battery lives under a seat are there not jump start connections under the bonnet?

Ours has, MM, but the handbook specifically says those connections should not be used for charging as the battery should be disconnected before charging 🀷🏻‍♂️.

Troutlegs, your Peugeot handbook should tell you all you need to know. In ours (2017 Boxer) it starts on page 147.

I think that is the manufacturer covering their back side again. If that was the case, why would CTek sell these and to add to that, there is apparently a thing called 'coulomb counting' (way way above my head) that a very clever friend of mine said .... modern cars have coulomb counting to get an estimate of battery charge capacity, if you go directly to the terminals, it confuses the system (it bypasses the current monitoring) and then you get a whole host of weirdness

as the Yanks would say .... go figure πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€·‍♀️

and on my ML it's virtually impossible to access the battery which also lives under my seat let alone get to the positive terminal

There again, with a new van under warranty would you risk doing something contrary to the manufacturer's instructions? Hmm πŸ€”

If I ever buy a brand new vehicle I might give it more consideration πŸ˜‰

Not sure about charging the battery, TW, but my 2012 Ducky was as flat as a pancake last week. I called 'Green Flag ' and they turned up after 3/4 of an hour, agreed with my opinion and lifted t' bonnet attached the brief-case type battery to the under bonnet points. After a couple of minutes he smiled, turned the ignition key and vavoom away it ran. Every other day since then I have given it a run { static or mobile embarassed } and it's not exhibited any signs of trouble  apart from a strange movement of the fuel gauge !!.

{ Also  why would the manufacturer claim you have broken the terms of the warranty  if you don't tell 'em   sealed }
