That's not quite the case. Although the forum itself can be read by anyone, profiles can only be seen by those registered and logged into CT. That's why personal details are marginally safer in a profile rather in a post.

It's worth munging your email as "joe.soap AT ripoffproviders.com" which prevents it from being readily skimmed.
