Filling your Aquaroll

For many years now I have ceased using the rubber/clear tubed filler hose. Instead I cut a suitably sized piece of white rigid PVC pipe (as that used for draining away waste water from your washing machine ). ..About an inch down from the top of one end of said pipe, drill a hole right through from one side to the other side...Thread a shoelace through both holes and tie the ends together...At the site water tap, hold onto the shoe lace, drop the filling pipe down into the Aquaroll and present the other end over the water tap then before turning the tap on, wrap the shoe lace over the top of the tap and hold it in place with your hand..Proceed to fill with water..Job done ...The pipe will fit over every site water tap you are likely to find...Every time you have used it, wipe the exterior of it with a clean and previously unused sterlized wipe.

I use a large plastic funnel to fill my aquaroll

In nearly thirty years of caravanning I've only found one tap where this didn't work - in Spain where there was a fancy stone plinth built around the tap

Well, we just returned from our first ever outing with our Ttent, WHICH didn't have a hose.  So reading this now, when I'm home, I'm pretty excited about this idea.  I think I'll be looking for some piping now.

Any advice for a missing grey water hose?  Get a grey pipe I suppose?

I too have been doing this for years, never thought of the string thing though, I just hold it by hand - doesn't stop me chatting to the person waiting next in line though. Whilst in Glasgow in that freezing weather (mad tourer) I lagged my tank and to save unwrapping it every time I used a couple of old 5 litre bottles to top up it up. They too fit over any tap!
