The problem is where do you drain down your caravan's water heater if not on the pitch? Would anyone suggest hitching up tow the van onto the road then get back in to open the valve?

You could always use the MHSP on the way out.  I won't complain but some might Undecided.

well yes, but difficult to place the caravan with its drain tube somewhere exactly over the MH drain?

Tis reported that CC Ltd is installing grids to make it easier for MHers and cater for those that find manoeuvring a little too challenging.

..Thats another bit of site entertaiment going Wink

No more of that for me.  It seems that dumping on the pitch is acceptable so that will be my approach from now on :whistle2:

If you must then could I interest you in attaching one of these to the outside of your Motorhome Laughing

10 litre of water drained onto a pitch is the equivelent of 1cm of rain over 1 square metre... so not very much at all! If it drains out over 2 square metres, thats 0.5 cm (or a 1/5th of an inch of rain equivelent). Hardly worth worrying about! Dumping the entire contents of an aquaroll in one place might be more of an issue, but in the trees, etc. should be much better than putting high quality drinking water straight down the drain.

When packing up I run the hot water into the wastemaster to help rinse it out, therefore only cold water drains from the boiler which I drain on the pitch, after all it will be under the next van that arrives. The waste is taken to the waste drain and any remaining fresh water is emptied around any nearby hedge, tree etc. I always leave a bit of water in a container the van to get any mud etc. off the front of the caravan when I get back to the storage facility after the journey back.

Ok you can suggest it but I'll just empty on the pitch thanks Smile

yet MHers are expected to be able to manage this task....

youve just highlighted how useless the MHSPs on most sites are, so perhaps (as this seems to be the norm) ill just dump water all over the pitch....

i saw someone (a caravanner obviously) a year or so back kick two Aquarolls over and let them drain (60 odd ltrs at a guess) all over the pitch for the next visitor....

i was horrified, yet now read here that this is totally the norm for the majority....

why not walk your half filled barrels back to the water point and kick them over there where they can drain properly and drain your boiler when you get home over your own drive on in the storage area if thats where you have to go....

.it would be interesting to see the storage owners take on 'only a bit of water....' all over his compound...

I was talking about emptying the boiler water on the pitch (not the aquaroll, about 10L) and the difficulty of aligning the drain tube (unknown location somewhere under the van) then either putting the steadies down or getting into the van while hitched up, getting back into the caravan to open the valve, take the steadies down and then drive off

But your point is taken
