The thinner it gets the better, as far as I'm concerned - less to recycle!

Is there a membership price reduction for opting out of receiving the magazine?

Similar mags sold by W H Smiths seem to go for £3 per copy, probably more if delivered.

A reduction of some £40 per annum would seem quite reasonable, especially as it costs the CAMC nothing if the assertion that the advertising pay for it is accurate.

The C&CC say their magazine is worth £38 a year. However, digital membership is only £6 less. We take it though, as I would if offered by the CAMC.😀

The C&CC don't seem to have suffered as a result in providing a digital offering for a reduced subscription. In fact it seems to have opened the door to a much more interesting way of presentation with pop ups and links to further information. I haven't noticed a decline in advertisement.

The >C&MC mag< is also available on line with similar facilites but you do need a bit of detective work to find it! Why on earth they do not offer a similar offer to the C&CC is any ones guess.

The caravan and motorhome mag would be far more interesting if they published more critical letters of all things to do with caravans and the equipment therein.

advertisers wouldn’t mind if the comments were constructive. Under the current editorial board it takes all of 10 minutes to read. Changes are necessary.

I don't quite understand that view point, if you don't want the magazine tell the Club and they will stop sending it to you. The more that do that the the lower the printing run will be which is probably more environmentally friendly than accepting it and putting in the recycle bin?

I half read a review of the futuristic caravan, but as i will probably not be around to worry too much about how good or bad it is was not that interested, but did the £50k quoted include the car to pull it ?,

also could not understand why they are putting teepees on the Isle of Wight they have problems with occupancy except for peak periods hence all the cheap ferry deals undecided

I don't know why some people are so negative about the  magazine; after all it is only one aspect of membership and surely wasn't one of the main reasons they joined the Club.

I wonder if any of those who are critical of the content have ever submitted a letter, photo or article.

A suggestion:

Each month the CCC encloses along with its magazine a separate supplement providing details of all forthcoming weekend meets, rallies and temporary holiday sites throughout the UK. If CAMC were to produce something similar I would appreciate it as there seems to be no central point to access information for such events.

I don't think the Club makes the best use of the magazine, it is too focused on pushing Club sites. The content needs to be varied far more.

I have just finished reading the April issue of the C&CC magazine and as a general rule it has far more of interest in it than that of the CAMC magazines. For instance this month there are articles on electric bikes, the latest tyre legislation, payloads, batteries, plus the latest news and reviews etc. Well over an hour of interesting reading. I think the April addition of the CAMC's mag only took perhaps 5 to 10  mins of my time from front to back.

I too like the C&CC magazine best and have also opted for the paper supplement covering temporary holiday sites etc.

I also agree that details of CMC rallies are not that easy to find, but you may find the following link helpful

CMC Centre Events & Rally Search

Hope this helps.  Jim

C&CC no longer distribute  the insert of rallies and meets as a matter of course although I think it may be possible to opt into it.

I have a vague recollection of CAMC publishing something similar at one time but I might be wrong. The Centres have now stopped issuing their booklets listing forthcoming meets and we are supposed to check on the Centre's website instead.

I think, Dunelm, that your wish will be seen as turning the clock back 🙁.

I don't often read the mag but perhaps someone will know if they've published an article aimed at newcomers to the hobby. A sort of 'Vanning for Dummies' guide (no offence intended) to explain pitching, the correct use of CCEPs/MHSPs, EHU connecting and so on. In short, the basics of site usage which, from my observations, could be useful to some.
