I note that since the launch of the new version of CT that here have been no new members introducing themselves on here.

Says a lot about the easy of use of the new site, doesn't it!!

For Bakers2 - Off topic Remember similar problem years ago in a m'soft word doc. Retyped new doc. Good luck finding a solution.

Just to say I only posted once so maybe it was duplicated when the discussion was moved.

Maybe also take into consideration that it is December & people are busy with Xmas things at this time of year.

Posted on 22/12/2016 10:12

That is a possibility N1805,-- but that doesn't explain the sudden rise of new posters introducing themselves on other caravan forums over the last few days, many being those who used to post on this one.

One forum's loss being other forum's gain.

I suspect that is a large measure of the reason. What I have noticed is a large number of people coming on here to comment about the new forum who I have not seen posting on here before so perhaps they are doing that rather than introducing themselves?

If you are going to join another forum ,sometimes it doesn't pay to use your CT username surprised, but I still think even with the problems at the moment CT is one of the better ones..............

No doubt many lurkers have been galvanised into action and commented on the multitude of little foibles of the forum!

I know nothing of other forums as I do not belong to nor read any.  It was & still is my personal choice not to introduce myself - I presume this not  compulsory. I read/look for & have had helpful info for which I am grateful.  Where I can I try to post helpful/positive comments.

How do you know the same usernames are the same people on the varicous fora wink

I belong to most of the major caravan forums, at least those which are free, and I have not particularly witnesses masses of people jumping ship to those forums. People often belong to more than one forum so it is possible that you could see them post more on one forum than another. From my experience of some forums there is always a group of people who take every opportunity to have a swipe at the Caravan Club be it the new forum or the booking system. It is also not unusual that if you try and introduce a degree of balance that you are shot down for daring to defend or explain.
