Why as a full member of the club, 15 years, am I not aloud to go to some C/L sites.

How can c/l sites discriminate against family's .c/s are sent up with the help of the club under a certificate held by the club for club members.

We can all choose. I myself chose to stay away from Adult Only sites - I have a feeling I wouldn't like the mindset of the people who go there.

Actually EuroT we use Adult only sites from time to time but it will be because the site is the best choice for that particular area and in all aspects fits our remit, not that it happens to be AO. This philosophy also applies to Independent sites etc.

I would suggest that a good rule of thumb would be CL's for couples and CMC full blown sites for families.

I would suggest that is twaddle. Many non facility CLs have more room for toddlers to play.

Many CLs are ideal for families with young children - more space and greater freedom for youngsters to let off steam. And of course, at a more reasonable price for families at some times of the year.

I would suggest a good rule of thumb is to let every one choose the most suitable site for themselves from sites available, be that Club Sites, Commercials, CLs, CSs etc but to remember that we are guests and it's up to CL owners themselves to decide who they invite to use their sites - obviously members only though! wink

We really enjoyed using CL'S as a family, we tried to find ones that had lplenty of space for the boys to let off steam, without annoying others. There were times when it was hard to find ones that welcomed families in some areas.  It is however down to the CL owners whether they accept children or not.

I still like to see families enjoying time on a CL.

agree with you East T.

We like the more basic sites .Full CMC club site can work out expensive for families. We have all need in the van ,we only need water and toilet empting.  We do not spend a lot of time in the caravan ,we get out and about.

Because some members dont want kids playing ball, running round screaming near their caravans because parents cant control them . Im sure there are plenty of children friendly sites available in the club to choose from.

Kids should not be running around wild, not any site out of control. We are all club member and cl site are part of the club so should be open to all .

You’re right that children should not be running wild but many are out and about playing and laughing.

I'm afraid there is no 'should' with regard to CL owners deciding the best way to run their sites. The CLs are not part of the club as such but are granted exemption certificates by the club. Look at it however you like but there is no getting away from the fact that the CL owners cannot be compelled to do as you would like.

Had they not been granted their exemption certificates by this club but by another organisation, then none of us could use them. Please don’t follow the path of wanting to change things because they don’t suit you but think of the membership as a whole. Many members use such sites and if the CL owners turned their backs on CAMC, it would disadvantage the membership.

Here's another thought. The AO Sites are open to all members but it's your choice to want to take children with you so it could be said that you are limiting yourself to certain sites. There’s more than one way of looking at it.

Firstly, why after 15 years membership what causes you to just ask this now.

Secondly, The adults only sites are a very low percentage of the overall number of cl's. If you look at your own and neighbouring county of Lancashire the percentage of adult only sites is 17%. If you take that as a mean figure across the board then that works out at about 450 adult only sites in the book, not a lot really. So there is plenty left to choose from surely.

I prefer adult only sites and dog free sites but then we are talking a very small minority indeed. I just accept that, bite the bullet and select one from the area I wish to go

It's a difficult one for CL owners sometimes, damned if they do, damned if they don't. We had first hand experience a short while ago as to how bad parenting could radically alter a site. We were only bystanders luckily, but other visitors had their stay made less than perfect, and the very nice owner, who had carefully explained a few common sense do's and don'ts was left pondering on what to do for the best. Let down badly by two sets of parents. Won't stop us using family sites, but we pick our dates and locations carefully. As with a number of things in life, it only takes a few wrong ones to spoil things for the majority.
