Things haven't changed much after all!

Oh dear, having been away for quite a while and just recently come back, I was hoping that CT would have settled down a bit, and become a much happier place.

But no, its still populated by several who just love to argue. It dosen't matter what about, lets just be as arguementataive as possible score points, and try to belittle any one who you don't agree with.

Sadly several of the relatively new contributors are giving distinct signs of being the new trolls that I thought we might have got to go away.

Luckily being one of the old ***s I have been there before and my T shirt is quite worn out, so I'm not too worried about what abuse any of you want to chuck this way. But I will say this.

I have been a member of this club since the very early days, and I consider CT to be a very positive factor in the clubs continued success.  But the constant arguements and the attempts to put others down is not the way to hold any debate. The ability to put your point forward without rancour, sarcasm or sheer abuse is the mark of a proper well balanced person.  That does not require a private education or anything like that,  spelling is not the ultimate test I know that mine can let me down sometimes. I was a product of the secondary modern system but even I can appreciate the need to put an argement forward constructively.

Common Guys lets keep CT on the right track. Keep the lid on it!

I don't know about 'famous five', more like secret seven as I've no idea who is 'in' or 'out'. As for alter egos, there are a few egos that could do with altering. Why can't people behave like grown-ups?

I've no idea about who is supposedly in these five, six or sevens either CY

But I endorse your suggestion encouraging adults to "behave like grown-ups"

We can only hope!

Cheers

I think we would need to ask the instigator of the term famous five to determine who had a different opinion to them. I wonder who that might have been?Undecided I wonder if they, whoever they were, came up with the other derogatory terms?

I'd be happy to name the famous five, if you like Bugs.

Please confirm that it won't contravene the CT rules to do so.......although I'm not sure that anyone can be so naive as to not to be completely aware.....especially if, as we are told, mods have to read every thread.

You've read the Community Guidelines Ian. You know what they say about being kind, respectful, polite, considerate and taking responsibility.

If you have an issue with any fellow-members, either individually or in a perceived "group", the guidance is clear - contact the Community Manager.

Cheers

I only offered because you appeared to be unaware, Bugs.

Yes I have read the guidelines and that was why I asked whether you wanted me to politely name the characters in question.

I understand the guidance concerning contacting the Community Manager, but also expect that we can rely on you, as a moderator, to spot deliberate bullying and take action before the need (and attendant delay) of 'reporting' such activity.

Thank you.

Name your "characters in question" with supporting evidence to the Community Manager & she will decide if any "bullying" has taken place.

If the Champions spot any activity which breaches the Community Guidelines, they do take appropriate action and also alert the CM.

However, the Champions are member volunteers and cannot guarantee to be here 24/7 reading every post.
