Suggestion for the forum manager.

Now that there are many more Moderators on board to assist and advise members, It would greatly help those moderators find requests for help and advice if a new section was created precisely for that purpose.

It could be titled "Ask The Club"  where any requests for advice could be posted by members and easily picked up by the relevant Moderator.

Hope this suggestion is useful.

Kenine, the names used by other forums is irrelevant. On this forum the definition is provided in the T & Cs and that definition is the one we use. If you wish any other name to be used I suggest you contact the Community Manager by email.

Since you and I will never agree about what moderators should be called Bugs . Why dont we agree to disagree with me calling them moderators like most sensible forum members and you calling them whatever favourite name you llke. After all whats in a name

Now answer one question Bugs,    On the forum that you and Dianne run, Do you call your moderators Champions I bet you dont. Dianne is an astute lady and she wouldnt let you get away with that. She will probably have chosen something relative to our hobby of Caravanning so come on give us the information.

K

From what I've seen on the Forum you're talking about K, they're called by their names. I've yet to see anyone question them, their actions, or their decisions. . . .Oh yes, there isn't any decisions due to the fact decent folk are the ones allowed thru the door. That is the reason their is no need for a group to champion the forum, the forum users are more than happy to do that themselves.

Kennine - the term "Champion" is not something I invented. It is the term the Club has decided to use - see the Community Guidelines (which you agree to in order to use this forum) and also see numerous posts by the Community Manager.

What you are totally missing, whether deliberately or not, is that the Champion role here, for most of CT's Champions, is not what you understand as a "moderator" role on whatever other forums you frequent.

Personally, I don't care whether you agree with the use of "Champions" on CT or not. And I don't care whether you agree with me!

Champions are what they are called by the Club - and the role is perfectly clear. And most of the Champions do not undertake moderating.

That is the way the CC have set up the forum - if you disagree with that, you need to raise it with the Community Manager.

However, for you to call all of the Champions "moderators" when they are not is clearly inaccurate and misleading - and as can be seen from the second post in this discussion, just causes unneccessary confusion for other CT members.

What roles people undertake on other forums and what they are called is irrelevant here.

Cheers

Bugs

I don't think anyone's touched any nerve, Husky. Rather it's the inability or unwillingness to see what's blindingly obvious to the rest of us. I think it says a lot for Bugs that he's remained as patient as he has in explaining the situation over and over again as one needs to with a stubborn infant.

Somebody earlier mentioned Google. Which brings to mind that when searching for the meaning and duties of a Moderator that Moderators should be completely fair to all, helpful,  supportive to all , and not take sides in any discussion whether they agree or disagree with what is being posted.

Not seen much of that on this thread

By the way, K, I meant to say how much your publicity of the other forum is appreciated. Membership numbers are increasing and they're good people, too. I'm sure you'll be pleased to know your efforts have paid dividends.
