PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

This thread is not for discussions. Post ONLY factual information.

To provide a comprehensive list of problems encountered, I would suggest that each post lists only one issue at a time.

Provide details of problem  as concisely as possible.

Operating system, machine used and relevant software. i.e. Macbook/ PC/tablet, Windows XP/ iOS7 etc, Safari/Internet Explorer/Chrome inc version No.

Please do not enter into discussions such as "I've had/not had this problem" as this will detract from the objectivity of the thread. Hopefully this thread may assist the IT department in finding where "all the bodies are buried".

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

Rochelle,

Do you have a timetable / priority list for sorting out the various faults that have been reported?

Nothing more frustrating than being continually told that "we are looking into it" / "working on it"

Hi Ian,

We do actually have a priority list that is being finalised today. Once I've reviewed it and we've tested everything I'll be able to share the list with you

Its possible that the threads are still there but now have a different URL so old links won't work. I don't know how much time Admin will have to go back and search for the old threads. It might sound rather drastic but if that is not going to happen any time soon, which seems likely but I wonder if all old threads, and perhaps stories over a certain age should be Deleted User rather like they have done with older reviews and we start again?

Old threads from previous forum no longer there, some very important ones full of information designed to be there forever, such as UK campsites where no car is needed and many more e.g

Hi Roy,

My colleagues have been trawling through this version of the site, and the old version, to see what threads are missing. Nothing is ever truly 'lost', so I'll keep you updated on the status of these when I know more.

I would advise, however, that any really important threads that you can think of that are missing, if you just start them afresh... It might take a while to recover the 'lost' threads and I'm not exactly sure on timings right now.

I'll add the links you've listed above to the list, thanks

Good points David -- This is a new forum. Most of what has gone before in the old forum will have little value.--- Except the sections covered by " Information, technical tips and advice" which could be of great use to new Caravanners and Motorhomers and also a reference point for the more experienced.----------- If the IT dept had the time, that section would be useful to transfer to the new forum.

Certainly nothing from the non- hobby related sections are worth the IT dept spending time on. -- Particularly anything from the Social Room.

Cheers........................K

Hello again,

Thank you to everyone for your feedback on this thread. As you know we’ve been reviewing each item, adding to our list and managing them according to priority.

We are identifying fixes for the issues raised, and we’ll be able to give you regular updates on the improvements that we have made to the community and across the site over coming weeks.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Some observations re 'Stories'

1. Photos on older stories still missing, and random photos substituted.

2. 'Member' photos on stories also randomized.

3. Selecting  one of the 'top authors' takes you to the login page, not a list of their stories.

Other irksome features include the sensitivity to mouse pointer movement. Crossing the screen without clicking can take you all over the site.

It would now be helpful if we had a tabulation of all the 'problems' identified to date placed under the original post. This would save having to read every page before posting a new problem

It is not possible to leave a review for a CL site that has no reviews. Not good for new CLs or those that lost all their reviews in the move to the new site.

Photos have vanished from a new thread I started about The History of Caravans. I put four thumbnails on, they were visible for a while, they appear to have gone.
