With the bombardment of the fake passport positings today should the CC limit access to post in the forum to members only so they can at least control who is positing and what they post?  Can still leave it open to read if they want?

the title of this forum is"club together" if you are not a member of the "club" it really should not be any body elses business, the whole concept is for members to swap and change ideas, discussions, etc its a bit like letting a non member on a club site but wave the non member fee because hes a nice bloke or hes been here before, members only please

I'm a Club member, have been for over 25 years, but it doesn't say so on my profile photo.

Moderator Edit:

Perhaps it might be a suggestion that you make contact with the club to have your status amended below your avatar.

Thanks, will do, will try to anyway!

They seem to use the same illogic as they do on site, where you can use the Wifi for CT without paying. I would ban both this and non members posting.

My understanding is that the Club decided that they would allow non-members to contribute to Club Together as a means of encouraging non-members to join and I understand that initially this was quite successful, I don't know if that is still the situation. What we have to be careful of is basing decision on a few SPAM posts forcing decisions. We have been pretty  successful at cutting out SPAM and todays incidence is now fortunately very rare. The question that should be answered is there anything on this forum that requires the confidentiallity that prevents non members joining in?

Write your comments here...presumably though the cist of supporting it I'd taken from the £48 membership fee we all pay so why should do non members use it?  On other forums you can view stuff but not take part until you oay your fees so why not here?

I'm only a user of IT, but once the wbsite is up and running is there an additional cost for non members using it?

I suppose there's the cost of maintaining the forum, but given the current state of the forum that may not be a very big cost.

I've no problem with non-member contributors even when they are old 'friends' under new names Wink

I do think that pre moderation of newbie posts would be sensible and it may help to prevent queries going in the middle of threads discussing other things or in the wrong section.

I wonder why the posts Jill had to remove hadn't been pre-moderated as was the inteneded CC action following the previous massive spam invasions. Did someone think it was all ok, it clearly isn't.
