Hi all,

I've started a new discussion for the server errors as the previous one went off topic at times.

We apologise that you have been experiencing these. Please can you report these in this discussion and I will monitor to forward to the IT team.

Many thanks.

Husky

They don't need an excuse, as according to the person that answered the phone when I rang to alter a booking  (because I could not log on ) there isn't a problem. undecided

Is there a problem with the site generally or is the problem confined to CT.? I haven’t booked a site in a while, but I’ve researched a few and been quoted for european breakdown cover (wow, expensive!). In all cases the website performed as it always has, ok. However, try and load anything from the CT discussion menu and it might load immediately 10% of the time, but more likely it’ll just hang indefinitely or take several minutes to load only to repeat the delay on the next key stroke. Watching a blue line can become a tad tedious!

Given this has been going on now for weeks (months?) it’s difficult to reach any other conclusion than they don’t care and/or have an incompetence problem.

Server errors for the whole web site this morning, we needed to book a site but have had to wait a very long time to use the booking service.

Same here brue. The whole site seemed to be affected and still running very slowly. It doesn’t bode well for the introduction of this new booking system, if it’s going to happen. April is rapidly approaching. I’m certainly not keen on sites that are prone to hang up when trying to do a credit card transaction.

Is that all! Apart from server errors its so slow to load most pages the site is not really usable. I've given up.

I dug out the "new system" thread in UK Sites and Touring to find out when it might be launched. So far there have been no further details announced and I'm wondering how all this is going to pan out. frown

I was just wondering the same thing, wasn't it supposed to go live in April?

And still no news from Rowena or anyone in the IT department at East Grinstead. 'No news' is certainly not 'good news'. Perhaps Ro has, herself, given up trying to get on here. It really is pathetic.

I haven't bothered with CT for a while now, but have tried to research CLs in the past 3-4 days.  It's unbelievable how long pages take to load.  First of all once a county is selected, plus the criteria (EHU, HS and that sort of thing) takes ages before a list of CLs appears.  When clicking on a CL within the list, the wait is endless, so much so, that a few times I've had the message "Timed out".  It beggars belief that this is still going on 6 weeks after this thread was started, but in reality it's been going on far longer than that.  I feel sorry for the CL owners; I have tried to google individual CLs, to see if they have their own website, but while some have, quite a few more haven't.  The SD is over a year old now, so not100% reliable as to whether a CL is still in the system, and as well as that, I do like to read reviews of CLs.

As SteveL said upthread, a website prone to freezing/sticking, call it what you like, is worrying when having to use it for financial transactions, as we will have to do before long when booking club sites.
