Posted on 19/12/2023 10:35 by TinwheelerI also wonder why Ro has left her sticky thread in place. It hasn’t been used for months as nobody ever gives notice of down time.🤷🏻♂️

Have been getting them intermittently forever.....
Just got it again now on the latest activity page. If I reported each time ......
I've learnt to keep threads open that I'm interested in. This one is never closed 😉
Maybe they don't know how to fix it?
As an aside I notice many posts begin in the story section and are moved by mods with an note about not posting discussions in the stories. That's gone on for years too. Tells you lots about ease of use and the site being intuitive.......

If contributors take a few moments to read the posting guidance it is perfectly clear what should be posted in either the Story Section or Discussions. Anyone posting, as a new poster, in discussions have to have their initial posts agreed by Admin, the same does not apply to Reviews or Stories so whether people post in the Story Section as work round I don't know. I would like the same principal to be applied, at least to the Story Section. It would also be nice to inform people that their posts have been moved so they know where to add any further comment to replies to their original post. You do have to allow for the fact that some want to get something off their chest and are not interested in further discussion so they are probably not bothered where they post?

David, just maybe those that post initially in the story section with what actually are questions, (not knowing better! sic), would continue posting if they were informed where their "stories" had been moved to. I realise that you, as a mod, cannot let them know, but surely there should be some mechanism to tell them. Then perhaps we might just get a few more regular posters on CT.

I agree it would be a good service to let posters know that their posts have been moved. Be it from stories or from one discussion section to another. UKCampsites seem to have an automatic system whereby if one of your posts have been moved to another section your get an email telling you that. I am sure a system could be put in place where a mod flags up a message without seeing the contact details. Unfortunately no concrete evidence as yet that the Club are willing to upgrade Club Together to have more modern features? I think we are coming up for 10/12 years (?) on the current software. Perhaps I should have made a request to Father Christmas
