I have yet again reported it to Rowena but in the scheme of things I suspect there is not much she can personally do about it other than pass the information on. We then get into the situation of where our forum problems come on scale of importance compared to the main website?

It is obviously the plan of those at HO to stop old and new members from accessing CT other than through already open tabs, so that they can turn round and say that no-one is posting so they, in their own minds, have a legitimate reason for closing it completely!

Posted on 17/11/2023 20:14 by nelliethehookerDavid, wasn't it put forward by those in charge at HO that CT was a showcase for the forward thinking CC and one way to enrol new members? This is blatantly obvious not the case now that they have tied themselves to Facebook.

I suspect that thought has long passed! Maybe when Club Together was first introduced? Even if we were all surprised by a new, fully featured forum, would that encourage a mass influx of members to use it. Regretfully I fear not as most traditional forums seem to be dying on their feet. UKCampsites has had half a page of posts for the last two days. The forum set up by Bugs seemed to go days and weeks without meaningful new posts and Caravan and Motorhome Talk seems to spend more time talking about non caravan/motorhome topics. Other forums seem to have closed down. Please point me in the direction of a meaningful forum dedicated to our hobby. You mention Facebook but that does seem to be where all the action is these days. I could be wrong but I suspect those that post on Facebook wouldn't come near a traditional forum? It is a sad state of affairs but some might say that is progress?
