Resurrection of Old Discussions

Has anybody managed to work out why old or even very old discussions suddenly reappear and because most contributors don't notice the original date new but often no longer relevant comments are made because of the time lag.

My own theory is that a new discussion has been started with the same title and the system cannot differentiate between the two and thus the problems start. I have tried to test this by searching to find duplicates even using different search engines but to no avail.

I know it's only another minor issue but I am sure some of you find it just as frustrating as me.

Best beach in the UK, IMHO. Beautiful sand and warm water due to the sheltered and shallow nature of Poole Bay. Spent a few nights anchored off there ( think MH wild-camping) wink

Yes, Dorset is one my favourite places too. I remember Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.

Perhaps some of the older post appearing years later is due the 'pants' nature of the search facility?

Do you mean the days when there were stars?

Just tried to comment on a  post with same title " Serviced Pitches" as another resurrected  post and the comment then appeared on the old post. It seems totally random where the comment is displayed old or new. Will be interesting to see what happens when a third or more posts with same title are made.

Glad we've got back on the OP as this is a confusing part of CT that really needs an overhaul.
