I take it P/Bucket is like F/Book, you set either for private or public. If it ain't private then anyone can have access. I'm glad I use neither, if I did I'd do some serious research first.

No idea about Face book, but Photobucket has the option to make public what ever folder you want ...... the only pictures you can look through of mine are those which are linked to on other forums anyway

This website Photobucket has been used by most here myself included as a receptacle for pictured that can be linked to postings after being suitably resized, unfortunately the default privacy settings give free access . Its not that anyone has gone out of their way to make their photo collections public but they and me included, have not dug deep enough to find the options to keep people out..Now we know better

Every day is a school day, it's lucky for you that you found out before someone was able to use the access for nefarious deedsHappy

You are welcome to look at anything I have put on Photobucket.  I note that Google has already helped itself.

I was just reading about Photobucket and some of it is worrying. Even with the privacy setting engaged it sounds very iffy to me. If it's read carefully you discover all sorts of ways albums can be accessed. Look at Fuskering!

My conclusion is that I, personally, wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

It is the main reason I am not interested in posting photos at the moment. As soon as you upload anything to this sort of site the contents are at risk. The levels of security are just not good enough. When the CC sorts out the site to allow copy and pasting direct from my photo album I will be happy to post photo's.

Even then they can be lifted, Steve. We always need to take care and be responsible for our own security. We can't assume that third parties will do it for us.
