Why do some post have the opportunity to be liked by having  Like this post printed below them and others not?

Probably the best solution would be to remove the "Like" post from the scoring scenario, so that the the posting of "Like" becomes a genuine one, and not just one to add to ones score line!

Then the award of a Like would for the first time have some meaning!

So ! Just what is this Scoring Scenario and where can I find governing regulations, as without having a full understanding of the system, the whole thing seems to be surrounded by  a very childish ethos.

JC, I believe it was originally intended to encourage folk to post on the forum when the forum started some 4yrs ago(I think) but has become a 'stress' to some & a 'tool' to others. I also think it has outlived its usefullness. It's obvious that the forum is well used & there is no need to employ the points(star) system any longer. It was fun while it lasted but of late become a bone of contention. It is a 'waffleometer' I know because I can waffle at Olympic level & i've got the purple stars to prove itLaughingLaughing

JC, In short members who "like" posts get a point added to their total for each post they mark as "liked".

That could  of course result in a temptation to mark posts as liked, not in order to show genuine appreciation of the post concerned, but rather to increase the members personal star total.

Now I'm sure that our members are far too responsible to do that, but the temptation is there, and perhaps it would be in everyones interest if the system were changed to prevent that.

Such an action would result in a more accurate reflection on what posts were truly appreciated.

JC, you can find info by clicking on the Stars under your avatar - if you really think it's worth the effort.
