Why is it that after only a few minutes of inactivity on the forum ,you get logged out .It is very annoying. When im at work i have to log in about 12 times a daysurprised Surely it should be left to the member to log out.Your views please.

It's been explained that it's for our own security as logging into the forum also gives access to our bookings and membership details.

You log in at work and a logged in unattended device could give someone the opportunity to cause you and CC big problems.

It's yet another reason the forum should not be integrated into the main site but, hey-ho, there you go.

I disagree as I can see the logic of not wanting unauthorised people meddling with my CC account.

That's not to say I agree with the way CC have tied the forum into the main website. That results in all sorts of issues that could otherwise be avoided.

Ah but would you feel the same way if one of your work colleagues Deleted User all of your bookings? Or booked you for every weekend at an obscure site? People often have the weirdest sense of humour..

your talking about children messing about on computors.that wouldnt happen here ,if it did they would be looking for another job.there isnt anything worth meddling with on my a/c so they are welcome to it .and it is a pain logging in many times a day.im logged into another motorhome forum 24/7 365 days a year and in my 9th year and never had a problem.just my views i know ,and i also know it doesnt make any difference ,so dont really know why i bother bringing it uplaughingcool !!

Whilst its good the Club take our personal security seriously this has been a bone of contention ever since the first forum went online, about four years ago. It is the inactivity that seems to activate the logging out rather than being on the forum for an hour or more but being active during that time reading and replying to posts. The Club have been very reluctant to change their view on this.

Most other organisations are content to put a warning on the site, when you opt to remain logged in. The app for my electric account for instance. It warns selecting this option could lead to someone accessing you account if your device is left unattended. However, it is possible to lock the device, and similarly when I worked, if we left our work station the computer was supposed to be locked. Failure to do so was likely to lead to a reprimand.

perhaps all you other members have got a lot more than me to keep secure,i dont know ,but it still seems OTT to me for a caravan & Motorhome forum. But like i said before its just my opinion and i know nothing will change so i will just have to get on with itcool
