I suppose this is a classic example of the wrong place?

The report does say the driver's poor English may have contributed to the event

It was empty thankfully. Driver didn’t understand English, so got caught out. At least they had the language excuse, lots of visitors get caught out by how fast the tide rushes in over that causeway. For anyone interested in that area, there is a superb little site, just up from causeway, look it up on The Barn at Beal.

Good food in the restaurant and a decent view from the pitches.

Yep, it’s a nice little site. Lots of MHs there when we called in. Had a look around (we were in a cottage) and it’s a smashing stop over to visit Lindisfarne. I wonder if the horsebox owner was living in the box? Some have decent living cabs, although that looks a tad small in truth.

Indeed, they ran the story on BB radio Newcastle this afternoon and an extra twist is that the RNLI lifeboats were called out twice that day to the island. Apparently there was a fire on the island later that day and while there is a fire engine permanently there the fire crews are brought over by lifeboat when needed.

Looks like a hire van from Switzerland. Oops.

There's a causeway connecting an island of the coast of France and they have poles that people can climb if they stuck. We've seen pictures of Coaches stuck on it and passengers having to be rescued by the Lifeboat men. People lose their lives leaving it too late.

You never know, the van may have broken down getting across and nobody could get to it in time so the insurer may have no alternative but to pay up.
