CAMC Insurance

In the early hours of 11th November, we had our 4 month old, top of the range twin axle caravan stolen by a gang of five very “professional” thieves carrying massive crow bars. They all wore balaclavas, and totally ignored the cctv cameras dotted around the storage site. They smashed through electric barriers, and gemmied off wheel and hitch locks, on both ours, and another similar nearly new caravan, removing the alarm and tracker boxes leaving them on the ground. They then drove off into the night using two vans with no number plates.  The police followed up, reviewed the cctv footage and declared there was nothing further they could do. Luckily we were insured new for old with the Caravan Clubs insurers, and their treatment of us and our claim has been absolutely first class. Their Loss Adjuster was very supportive, and gave us complete confidence. As a result, four weeks and three days from the day of the theft, payment was made in full, and we have our replacement 2020 model arriving in January. I could not recommend the CAMC insurance highly enough, they were absolutely magnificent.

The CMC cover policies are, as far as we are told, not underwritten by any other insurance company. The CMC have themselves taken out an insurance to provide funding if they themselves become insolvent and are unable to sustain claim payments. Very much a different thing

This appears to be going round in circles. There are those that use the club and those that do not, both sets are happy with their choice I assume.

But it would appear that those that  seem to be very persistent to trying to point out the 'deficiencies' in the club cover to those that do use it. Yet the club users do not do the same.

Why can't people just accept what people have chosen rather than the constant pointing out of the 'error' of their ways?

End of for me.

obviously touched a raw nerve

I care not at all what you or any others here do for your insurance and find it hard to understand why my affairs are of such interest to you.

so why keep posting and telling us all your domestics, personally i do not care who you use to insure what, but you keep harping on about how you have now found alternative arrangements to the clubs insurance for your treasured Hobby, we get it, you dont think the clubs cover is for you you dont need to keep banging on about it.

Those that do use CMC cover do keep chipping in instead of agreeing the obvious. It is a good product but is not regulated by fos. Simple really.

Some want a regulated policy and look elsewhere. Some are not fussed and are happy to stay with an unregulated excellent product. Some just want to snipe at members for their views. Simple as I said.
