It looks as if we have a poorly dog today.  Completely off food and is passing blood in stools.  We're quite worried about her at the moment but have booked Lizzie in for the vet this afternoon.  Frown

That sounds a bit worrying, David. Best to get the vet to check Lizzie out. Hope it turns out to be nothing too serious!

Aye, vet is best place for something like that DSB. Sometimes I think anal glands are usually at root of such problems ( if you will forgive the pun!) Hope things are quickly sorted for you.Happy

Carol took her to the vet this afternoon, while I was at my 6 monthly out-patients appointment at the hospital.  She seems to think it is gastroenteritis with perhaps some sort of infection.  We have medicine and antibiotics.  She has to be starved for 24 hours and the small amounts of food three times a day.  If she's no better by Monday or if she's any worse, we have to take her back.

Fingers crossed for some improvement.

best wishes for lizzies early return back to normal

We'll keep our fingers crossed for you David.

Lady goes back to the vets to have her stitches removed tomorrow ( though I'm not quite sure where the stitches are - we had her spayed last week!). She's been on lead walks only for the past 8 days and she's just desperate to be off and running again! Happy

Thanks for the comments folks - and hope all goes well with Lady, Moulsey.

You are right about animals being such a worry, Ruby.  They certainly are part of the family, but one of the biggest concerns is that they just can't tell us exactly what the matter is.

Lizzie seems a little brighter this evening.  She wants food, but that's a no-no at the moment.  No walkies either, according to the vet.
