Quick question. I have read and respect the club rules on keeping dogs on lead on site., but if the site has a specific dog exercise area is it ok to let them chase a ball or have a good sniff around?

My 2 borderr Collies love being off lead in new places.

Ian.

Absolutely correct k9sam. There is no rule about dogs having to be on a lead in the dog walk areas, although on sites where such areas are limited and not secure, it makes sense to do so.  On sites (CC or otherwise) with large enclosed dog walks, ours get the best of both worlds. A good romp before breakfast while Mrs M puts the beds away and sets up our breakfast, followed by maybe a 4 or 5 hour walk in the countryside where we're staying. Happy

Our routine is same M, decent walk in morning for necessities, then a proper walk in day. Ours go everywhere with us most of time anyway, unless they are just too pooped to go shopping!Happy

There is a vast difference between taking the dog to the site "Dog Walk" to let it poo and pee -- and actually taking the dog for proper exercise.

On site, including the dog poo area, dogs should be on a lead.  ...

We all know the difference between the dog walks on a site & taking your dog out for a walk. & Molly the Mutt is always off lead in the dog walk area

Write your comments here...Wrong!! in dog walk areas there are no rules for having dogs on leads.......just down to personal preference and consideration for other users.

I thought the club site rules stated “dogs must be kept on a secure lead no more than 3 metres long”. Are you suggesting the dog walk area is not part of the site?

Yes ,I thought dogs had to be on a lead every where on site ,even the dog walk , maybe the club can clarify this

i have reported my post ,so we can get an answer ,should only take a couple of hours!!

I 'd have thought any reasonable interpretation of "on site" meant the roads and pitching areas, and that is absolutely as it should be. I don't see the rule as including the dog exercise areas. Still, I stand to be corrected! Undecided. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

There seems to be a different interpretation of a "dog walk" and a "dog excerise area"

the area such as the one at M in the M then I would say it's ok to let your dog off lead ,but where they are just a narrow path then keep it on a lead

Eith way mine is always on a lead , you just don't let huskys off leadSurprised

All explained here,  You can let them off, quite surpised at the responce from some on here? Seems people and their dogs are being judged by people who know nothing about them ?

Can't seem to get a direct link in the post so you will need to copy and paste it.
