Best reads - Club Together Book Club?

I'm just about coming to the end of Deborah Moggach’s book, Heartbreak Hotel. I found it a very enjoyable read and very amusing. But what should I read next? Any recommendations?

I also wondered if anyone would be interested in a Club Together book club? According to a member survey earlier last year, reading is the most recurring leisure activity whilst caravanning. I know I’m a book worm and I’m sure there’s a few of us out there who enjoy a good read. Anyone interested or any suggestions?

Well, by complete coincidence, the second book in the series,  "Force of Nature" is on Kindle daily deal at 99p today! 👍

Missed that, and I see today that it is back up to £4:99, as is The Dry so I will give them miss for the time being.😁

If anyone wishes to read a series of detective novels set in North Wales then the first 3 of the Inspector Drake series, by Stephen Puleston, are available on Kindle as a box set, entitled Spilled Blood, at 99p for all 3 books, until the middle of next week.

Cheers Nellie. Just picked up next 3 in series of J.D.Kirk's Logan series, numbers 10/11/12 that just happened to be on sale in The Works.

Fans of Stuart Macbride's "Logan McRae" series will love his latest offering "The Dead of Winter" which introduces a new pair of completely mismatched detectives! This author has the uncanny knack of combining the utterly gruesome and the absolutely hilarious within a couple of sentences! If you've never read any of his books this would be a good place to start as the characters are all new. It's described as a "stand alone" at the moment but there's plenty of scope for this pair to get involved in more mayhem so hopefully this will be the start of another series.  smile

The first 6 of Caro Ramsay's Anderson and Costello series are available at the moment on Kindle in two box sets at 99p per set of 3, a real bargain, unlike someone's MWD!!wink

We've just had a few days away, so I treated myself to two new Kindle downloads.

Alan Johnnson's two fiction books. "The Late Train to Gypsy Hill" and "One of our Ministers is Missing". Both enjoyable - but not "can't put downable". I struggled a bit with the first one - a lot of Russian names to remember!

I assume that is the Alan Johnson of Government fame? If so his autobiographies are good especially  his first one, This Boy, which will be meaningful to those born around the end of the last war.
