Who decided to exclude Northern Ireland from "Team GB"?

There's a full explanation on the BBC website about the difference between GB and UK etc. Northern Ireland athletes can choose which country to represent (GB or The  Republic).

Just watched the heats of the men's BMX event. Good Heavens, scary stuff indeed!

Really enjoying the olympics and team GB performing wonderful , as we are massive equestrian fan's  Nick Skelton's GOLD has to be the icing on the cake for me 

Watched the women's hockey final last night, didn't understand the rules but great game . Those girls certainly don't take prisoners!!. Well done GB .
