Well, 2016/17 gets under way this afternoon. For those of us who follow our favourite teams, what are your hopes/fears for this season?

After two consecutive promotions (and with virtually the last kick of the last game of last seson sealing it for us) I'm getting excited but realistic about Rovers' chances this season. It'd be nice to consolidate our place in league 1 and not have our fate decided on the last day of the season as it has been for the last three years.

Anyone else getting excited? (Non footie fans need not comment, Ian! Wink)

It  certainly  used  to,  JVB,  but  even  the  top  refs  are  Hi-income  pro's  now  !  They  used  to  be  pro's  I  know  but  in  the  early  day  they  were  just  very  badly  paid  and  very  badly  treated  too  !

Making the refs in the Championship full time hasn't improved their performance. The ref and linesmen, sorry assistant referees, were to a man diabolical yesterday..

The  Officials  have  to  balance  their  performance  to  that  of  the  players  or  folks  would  say  they  were  showing  off  Tongue Out!

Enjoy it while you can. Our lot lost to Shrewsbury last nighit. Looks like it's back to the bad old days where we were consistently inconsistent
