So now the search is on for a new Manager for the England football team who would be your choice and why ?. I will start the ball rolling with Arsene Wenger apparently his contract with Arsenal runs out at the end of this season and is not being renewed, good coach with plenty of experience in handling big name players.

Could  do  worse  than  pick  Dario  Gradi  --  he  knows  how  to  stick  around  at  one  club  --  he  started  at  Crewe  in  the  days  when  they  had  to  catch  a  pig  in  order  to  get  the  match  ball !!

Joking  aside  he  certainly  knows  how  to  bring  on  the  youngsters  --  many  of  them  other  clubs  cast-offs  they  could  not  see  their  way  clear  to  coach  &  guide!

I read a letter in the Times today saying the problem is

1 England haven't won anything for 50 years

2 No team has won the Premier League with an English manager for 25 years

3 All these ex England players who haven't won anything are saying we need an English manager

mmmmmm

A sane person or not does not come into it. Do the job for a short period fo time. Do a runner and have lots of money to buy the motorhome or caravan of your choice!

I've got a window of about two and a half months after Christmas ..... LOL

I assume that the manager doesn't actually enter the field of play so why does the manager actually matter?

Surely the players are reasonably exerienced in footballing and therefore they all must know how to kick the ball into the opposite net?

Perhaps the success rate could be improved by utilising someone who knows little about football but a great deal about management.
