How's your footy team doing?

I'm starting this thread again because it seems to have been a casualty of the change over to the new site. The Terriers scecured another away win last night at Burton. Two wins in a row now after a barren spell. It'll all go pear shaped on Friday when we go to Norwich because the game is to be televised , we haven't won on the telly for ages.

Round  'uns,  allegedly  pork,  contained  in  pastry  but  I'd  recommend  those  from  the  local  chippy --  their  pie  cases  taste  less  like  football  leather,  and  the  meats  fresher  --  twas  running  round  the  training  ground  this  morning  !!  smile  The  tea  is  detectable  by  the  smaller  labels  {  less  letters  than  coffee  of  course !! }sealed

Ye  Gawds  --  The  Old  un's  are  still  the  best  bi  'eck  wink

Not  sure  how  I  feel  about  footie  tonight  undecided.

Poor  old  Alex  had  the  worst  of  todays  game  at  Gresty  Road  but  scored  first  then,  justifiably  conceded  to  let  Bury  escape  with  a  deserved  point  __  BUT  I  was sitting  here  typing  away  &  listening  to  the  Port  Vale  V  Lincoln  game  and  could  not  stop  laughing    P V just  scraped  a  lucky  but  deserved  THRASHING  at  Burslem..

To  Hell  with  sad  thoughts  __  Come  on  Lincoln,  Lincoln  come  on  !!

You and lots of Stokies laughing into their oatcakes!

Meanwhile Stanley's remarkable run continues with a 3-1 home win in front of their largest home gate, so far this season, 3346 (Sadly, there isn't a digit missing)

Just back from the game this evening against Liverpool. Although we lost 1-0 that was a really good performance from Town and with a bit more luck we would have had a point against last seaon's Champions League finalists.

A cracking shot comes back off the post when an inch the other way it would have gone in: a goal ruled out for inches offside: and a penalty ,that you've seen given , denied.

Anyone like to sell Rovers a goal? It's been over 9 hours now since we've managed to persuade the ball that the back of the net is the place to be. That great striking duo we bought from Shrewsbury in the close season are about as much use as Batman & Robin (that'll be the Delboy and Rodney version of the dynamic duo!) yell

Man City is doing very well. If I was an Englander I would be supporting them.

Now  now  Kennine,  behave  yourself  !!

If you truly were an Englander you'd have much more sense  !!wink

Well, now I'm esconced in my bunker {& fully kitted out in body armour},  I'm  quite happy for a change. It's only cost me a small fortune checking  out the sports news, the TV news, some far away friends and three Saturday sports papers  as  well  as  the TV  MOTD on Saturday evening and Sunday morning  and  all to verify  the fact that "The Alex Won Away " yesterday !!surprised

Well their group of non English players do seem to be much better than the other top clubs' groups of non English players, K. But nothing to give much encouragement to any true  "Englanders"!  wink
