How's your footy team doing?

I'm starting this thread again because it seems to have been a casualty of the change over to the new site. The Terriers scecured another away win last night at Burton. Two wins in a row now after a barren spell. It'll all go pear shaped on Friday when we go to Norwich because the game is to be televised , we haven't won on the telly for ages.

Well City managed to get a late win against Hoffenheim. I know, no one has heard of Hoffenheim!

Anyway, we were at the match and really enjoyed it.

We're staying 5 nights in Heidelberg (not in the 'van), fly home tomorrow.

Away at Liverpool at the weekend, not going to that one. Much as I like Anfield, we always get walloped there.

Will try to post a photo of Hoffenheim.....

My team may not be doing very well on the grass but off the field it's a different story. Today we're away at Burnley and the chairman his wife and 200 other fans are walking the 26 and a bit miles from the JSS to Turf Moor to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society in memory of Ray Wilson MBE. They set off at 3.00 am!

Ray was suffering from Alzheimer's disease at the time of his death earlier this year.

Last week the Town Foundation opened its 31st breakfast club and this year passed the milestone of one million breakfasts served to school children who would otherwise have gone to school without a proper breakfast.

The other big fund raising feat has seen money raised for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance for the ninth consecutive year this year.

Hopefully the team will soon turn the corner and start to match that effort on the grass.

I'd take any win at the moment but coming back from one down on Saturday is a good sign that better things might be round the corner . Then along comes another damned international break and the momentum is lost. Grrr

Your team may not be doing too well on the field, but off it - Wow! What brilliant community spirit!! Many teams work hard with local communities and charities and to pass  one million breakfasts for schoolchildren, in my book, puts you top of the league!

Long may it continue ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€

Stanley went down 1-0 to Shrewsbury after their keeper was red carded 16 minutes into the game for a 'collision' on the edge of the box!?!

Good result really playing with 10 men ๐Ÿ˜€

Well now I'm really down in the dumps. The Tivvies lost in extra time to the London bobbies last night so they'll just have to concentrate on the league.

Not  sure  how  I  feel  about  footie  tonight  undecided.

Poor  old  Alex  had  the  worst  of  todays  game  at  Gresty  Road  but  scored  first  then,  justifiably  conceded  to  let  Bury  escape  with  a  deserved  point  __  BUT  I  was sitting  here  typing  away  &  listening  to  the  Port  Vale  V  Lincoln  game  and  could  not  stop  laughing    P V just  scraped  a  lucky  but  deserved  THRASHING  at  Burslem..

To  Hell  with  sad  thoughts  __  Come  on  Lincoln,  Lincoln  come  on  !!
