Posted on 14/12/2021 13:49 by JollyKernowWe all have our opinions on the outcome of the race but it's now history. Let's look forward to next year and a new breed of hybrid cars which will as mentioned above allow a wider spectrum of winners.
Did anyone notice in the post race interview with Lewis by Jenson, when he said about coming back fighting next year? I think Lewis responded with "if" there's a next year. I hope he doesn't retire as I think it will be another good fight with other drivers in the mix, George Russell certainly will rise to the challenge, along with hopefully Lando and Carlos. And just maybe Max will have matured a little more.
He was still robbed

I hope Lewis does stick around and then we will see how good he is against a competitive teammate. No wonder he liked driving alongside Bottas as he was obviously no threat.
If he loses the championship next year, especially if that is against GR, then I'm sure he will retire.

One could hope but I doubt it he will be even more pig headed and arrogant after a period of publicity and praise.
Looking forward to seeing the other new young drivers though Russell, Lando and Carlos here's hoping they give him a hard time.

Posted on 14/12/2021 11:19 by WhittakerrHeres a good article that discusses why the race director is clearly not up to the job.
I think the outcome of Sundays debacle is that MV will keep the title, (the FIA will never overrule themselves), Michael M will be replaced and the rules changed to become ambiguous.

There is a very interesting highlight in this article.
”team principles had made a request that races are not finished behind a safety car”
that would make Michael Massi’s position very difficult in this instance, especially as both principles were pressurising him to accommodate their team

Posted on 14/12/2021 19:24 by JollyKernowThere really was no need to bring race into this discussion. Thanks jv.
