Why  does football cause people to behave in a way quite alien to the rest of us?

Write your comments here... For the players too much money and not enough brains. For the onlookers too much booze and not enough brains.

Write your comments here...Very good points Bob.  Football (soccer) seems to attract the antisocial thugs in our society.

Rugby, Hurling, and Shinty cater for the more intelligent and civilised . Their supporters enjoy their respective sports, are well behaved and  a pleasure to have as visitors to any town or city.

I agree to an extent, although, to put it in perspective, it's just the idiots who have enough money to throw away on following the bloated businesses calling themselves Premier League clubs or to spend vast sums on following those so called "top professionals".

Down in the lower leagues, there is rarely any trouble and fans mix happily on match day. The police at the Mem, where Rovers play, are cheerful and sociable with the fans, and have few reasons to ever intervene. Happy. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

it now transpires that the trouble was not limited to England but also to France and Russia.Yell

I wonder how many of us would give up a little of our intelligence forthe talent of kicking a ball around and making millions as a result, are they  who they really mugs!SurprisedWink

Wales game just starting now.  of all the National Anthems Wales comes out tops, then The French one a close second. .   England of course doesn't have one of their own, so I cannot rate them.

This game started well, Wales depending on their good defence.

Wales has just scored - great goal !!!!!!!

Wherever the English National Anthem originated, I do believe the Marshal Wade verse should be heard more often.

Good win for Wales.Hopefully England will do the same and get two teams out of the group. However the English fans could see the nation humiliated.

To be fair there is very little trouble in the Premier League either.  However, unfortunately it is the few that cause trouble, that also go out to follow England.  Remember there are 1000s of English supporters out there who aren't causing any bother.
